Yep i have finally done it!! Just purchased a Lambo, its been a long rocky ride but have finally done it!! I owe a great THANK YOU to DION from Elms collection who has helped me through the whole finding a car process regardless of what anyone has had to say on this site or how long it has taken and the amount of potential cars we have been through. BRILLIANT GUY, VERY VERY RECOMMENDED,CANT SEE MYSELF BUYING A CAR OF ANYONE ELSE IN THE NEAR FUTURE. ONCE AGAIN BRILLIANT GUY WITH SUCH GREAT HONEST ADVICE, A TRUE ASSET TO THIS TRADE!! bow Been looking for a long time, many doubters on this site, he stuck with me. Some may remember me as FUTURE LAMBO or even MURSI_07. Yep that was me, thanks to all for the great advice. The car i have purchased is a Orange Gallardo, from Lambo Birmingham, with Dom's help whos has been a pleasure to deal with!!
Now i just hope the weather changes so i can get some nice pics up for you guys. A bit of advice from what i have learnt is go with your own instincts regardless what anyone else has to say (unless dion), there will be far too many people out there to critisise!
Hope i enjoy it, just dont ask how much insurance was, 22 with 9 points and 2 previous bans eek

Wow congratulations, 2 previous bans and 9 points, by the age of 22. Just warn us when you are planning to drive it as I really don't want to be on the road.

Dion is a top fella, at least you got that bit right.
Seconded. Sounds to me like money doesn't buy common sense or respect.

Just make sure you don't take anyone with you when you smash it, OK?
They are only points for speeding, touch wood ive never had an accident!

You must have been very close to losing your licence as the probation period for new drivers is 4 years is it not? (i'm not planning on going anywhere near that! wink)
You must have been very close to getting 6points within the probation period!!!
Its actually 6 point within the first 2 years passing is a ban. Both bans were for exceeding speeds of 100MPH on a motorway, sorry guys il slow down

Sorry to be thick, but why would use this Dion guy to buy from a main dealer?

Not being funny, just being interested in using an agent.
Do a search on this guy and you'l see what i mean. He gets very good deals on cars as he is very well connected with all dealers.
As for the being cash or finance, does it actually matter?

So if that was the case, owning a lambo at 22 wouldn't be much of an achievement in that case really would it?

Good luck anyway with whatever name you sign in with next, it's been entertaining if nothing else smile
Little do you know mate!!

Absolutely well done – lambo at any age is great - at 22 is even better

Just can’t help thinking you have missed out on some great years of driving experience

e.g. I learnt a lot about driving owning a string of very rough and tired cars in my early 20’s e.g. datsun, xr2, 2cv, 5 turbo, 205 gti 16v, Mx5, x19 etc.

All with poor brakes (no abs) and borderline tyres, learnt to change brake discs/pads, alternators, radiators, carry out services etc on these bangers and more importantly how to drive smoothly (especially in the wet) as you never really knew what they would do when they hit their limit of handling – which they often did)

Saying all that I would throw away those found memories to have owned a lambo at 22 – just imagine the girls – where as I had to pick them up in my banger (our they would pick me up on those frequent occasions my car was off the road)

Once again well done – now pray tell are you

A pop star
Sport man
IT bod
Criminal (only joking)
Well bred
You missed off 'mortgaged up to the hilt'.

Well done SR, not how I'd go about owning a Lambo (mortgage) but enjoy it.
At that time thats what i intended, but circumstances changed so took a much better approach.

SR I think several of us (consider this my turn) have eaten humble pie on the whole not believing you thing. At the same time comments like that don't do you any favours - have a look around, there are dozens people on here that don't need to work but choose not to shove it in everyone's face. Thats kind of one of the "charms" of PH, it just doesn't matter.....
Acceptable, but everyone, minus a few seem to have a problem, the time i needed advice i was getting accused of all sorts, and even now the same was happeing so i am b ound to reply with what is going to annoy these people even further!

In fact I'm also getting tired of reading 'bragging' posts peppered with sentences about what they own, what they have ordered etc. I don't give a knats chuff about Lambo/Ferrari/Maser owners material wealth. And if they have it all, but just buy their car to bragg and show off then I'm sure I speak for others when I say I'm not even interested in reading about their cars either. True enthusiasts aren't interested in any of that crap. And that after all is what this site is all about. As Jonny once said 'less is more'.
Simon mate your one of the reasons i bought this car. As i am from Leeds i have seen your Orange sex machine flying around on numerous occasions, and everytime its like oooooph imagine that!

Take a breath, read back across all YOUR posts under all YOUR user names and reflect on how you might come across.

But before you do, take into account one thing you seem to fail to have grasped. Pistonheads is just the web forum for a bunch of real car enthusiasts, real people, who actually meet up and talk to each other. It's not just some virtual place, it exists.

I've been lucky enough to meet a lot of very friendly ph'ers at events, meets and trips out. I've been able to make valuable contacts, some of whom I'm yet to meet, but who I have been able to get really useful advice from.
i appreciate that which is what my intentions were, not to annoy or upset anyone. I got some very useful advice and also have made some contacts. Thanks to all, and for all those who think i was bragging etc, i really wasn't i may just have come across in the wrong. I too would have really loved to meet up with some of the great people on this site, but the way i seem to have come across to people i cant see that happening
