I love going to these shows, but i think its wrong to ask exhibitors £10 to show there car, yes, take money from people coming in to see the show, but not from exhibitors.
Theres a brilliant event just down the road from this at Sundrigde every year which is free to enter, for me 10 quid is too strong, no doubt i'll get shouted down and called a tight arse, thats not the case, but if there were no cars there would be no show, a bit like asking an actor to pay to be in a film, or a footballer to pay to play.
I know a few people that would have took there fabulous cars yesterday, but refused to go because of the entrance charge.

Sorry mate, but cannot agree with you there! It was a charity event, and it cost in excess of £3,500 to stage it. It was a fund raising event for the kids at the disability school. And thanks to exhibitors , visitors and donators we should have raised a few thousand over the overhead costs which will go to the children ultimately. If the cars did not pay a donation then the event would not happen in the first place or ever again. The £3,500+ has to come from sonewhere. I fortunately own a few nice cars, but I am not arrogant enough to expect to be effectively subsidised so I can have a good day out for free at a charity function. It was only £10 FFS!!!!!!
I too attend the Sundrige one, cannot remember if we pay or not but it is just a load of cars parked in a field and a table selling cakes and a beer tent. Not quite the same organisational skills.
It was such a good cause I'd have paid more to exhibit. There are some of us fortunate enough to own a classic or supercar who are only to happy to share with others our pride and joy and also be able to do something positive and give something back to such worthwhile causes. The look on those disabled kids faces made it all worthwhile. I wish you'd have stayed and just seen them, i'm sure you would have had a change of heart and seen what it was really all about.

Yes I have some great pics of us on the startline, about 6 of the wheelchair bound kids did racing starts with the chock and the huge Union flag with their parents cheering them on. One boy was laughing so much I nearly cried he was so happy. And that's what it's all about for me. I have s couple of pics but the files are too large apparently. And I did hear of a few show cars who threw in an extra £20 at the pay desk, some coming in but also some on the way out as they said they felt guilty having to pay so little after having such a fantastic day 😎Edited by Furyblade_Lee on Monday 16th May 10:53
Ok, so i didn't know it was for charity, so a good cause yes.
As for your comment £10 FFS...clearly you cant help being a total prat !!
I like you can afford to give a tenner, i chose not to, there are some people that cant afford £10, you are obviously someone who doesn't take other peoples thoughts into the equation...i

Ha ha ha yes I am obviously a total Pratt!! Generally speaking, if people can afford a second car which is a nice classic or supercar, and the petrol to and from, then yes I think it is quite sad you and your mates would choose to stay at home rather than pay a charge of a paltry £10. Charity or not. And the arrogance that people will effectively pay to stare YOUR car is admirable. But it's your shout, good on you. But let's be thankful 99% of other drivers do not see their cars as meal tickets to attend events for free which hundreds of volunteers man hours and thousands of pounds have gone in to staging.
I will buy you an overpriced slice of cake at Sundridge to reimburse you 😂
