If you live in or around Wycombe, you may know that the Wye is the river that runneth through it (hence the name, 'Wye Combe').

You may also be interested to know that this has nothing to do with the location of the pub I have chosen for the meet, and everything to do with the fact that it rhymed with pie.

Anyway, in short, it's a Wycombe pub meet.

You are invited to gather at:

The Old Queen's Head, Hammersley Lane, HP10 8EY (try www.streetmap.co.uk for the exact location)

on Sunday 23rd March at midday

Absolutely all PHers will be welcome. Sorry to bluesatin that it wasn't at The White Horse, but I discovered that the exotic dancers only work weekdays

All the best,
Domster

Dom

I think you know a little too much about the white horse. Considering you live in walking distance and are moving even closer i thought it would be the ideal location

Sounds a good plan, won't promise but might be fun to meet and put faces to names

Sooper dooper. Surprised to see how many PHers live around this area! I'll be there in my MX-5 or the bike, depending on how I feel.

Just how many PH members from the HW and local areas are lurking on the site?

Just had a thought (remarkable!). A few years ago it was possible to hire the mainstrip at Bovingdon airfield for "run what yer brung" sessions. Anybody know if this is still possible? Assuming it is, it could make for a greatly enhanced day out!

Where is Bovingdon? Find some details if you can, and it could be the basis of a Summer event.

(This event is just planned as a pub meet... we really need a whole day on an airfield to do it justice and cover the cost etc.)

Bovingdon is halfway between Chesham and Hemel. It was a WW2 US Air Force base and is no longer in use. I entered a "run what yer brung" there about 10 years ago - I don't know if they still take place. Would be great fun though...

Looks like everyone had a good day out at VW today.

Just a quick note to remind everyone, epsecially those who didn't attend VW, that Domster has organised a pub meet in Wycombe for sunday 23rd March.

23 attendees already according to the calander, with two weeks to go.

First time on this board, and there is a meeting in Wycombe coming up. If I am not busy (and I haven't sold it by then) i'll come down in my Westfield. It must be all of a mile from my house.

Yeah, come along

What are you replacing the Westie with?

Cheers

PS Thanks for the Bovingdon tip off to Mon Ami Mate... close enough to check out. Will delve deeper when I have a mo.

not replacing the Westie with anything at the moment. We are leaving on a round the world trip for a year. When we get back we will have the nightmare of going back to work after a year off, coupled with having to find a new house, but I know I will have the jot of searching for a new car to keep me going.

I want something more practical this time. Something I can dive to work as well as have fun in. Would love a TVR but insurance has always put me off.
