Top day out!

Hats off to Craig for organising (job well done) and Marshall extraordinaire (technically my job, but hey), Greg.

Hightlights, as a passenger?

Indicated 180 in the Daz-mobile. I want an X50 911... now. Legality of procurement unimportant.

The Ultima. Didn't get a ride, but, y'know, dribble, etc.

The fecking Diablo. Gibber.

Special mention for Adam in his mum's 318ti compact. Clearly lacking in straight line power, but he had it cornering on the door handles around the twisty bits. Should have brought knee sliders with me...

Nice to put names to faces at long last too - nice to meet you all.

Now, must sort out the panzerwagen for next time around.

PS. I've created shared upload space on my photo gallery site for anyone to upload pictures to.

Go to this page and log in (e-mail through profile for username/password). Click "add photos" and add them in groups of about 5 or so. I'll be checking for cheeky pr0n uploads and will save it somewhere safe... er, delete it immediately

Cracking day - not sure whether to post feedback here or in the General Gassing so posted on both.

Great to finally put faces to names.

Big to Craig, Greg & all others involved in setting it up and running it professionally - Thanks chaps. Could all who came out in my Noble please cough up £20 each for the new tyres it needs. The wing mirror glass turned up (thanks Craig) a little worse for wear so will serve as a trophy for whoever we deem to be 'V-Maxer of the day'. Any votes?

Steve - good to see the pictures already. Excellent ones on there.

Sorry Daz, but Noble's really ARE quicker than 911TT's with X50 - up to 4th / 110mph. After that your Bahn-stormer just romps away.

Excellent day all - thanks for all the rides and if anyone needs stuff (large videos etc.) hosted just shout.

2 things for me.

1) Being *inside* a 360 at full chat
2) Realising that Ur-Quattro -> RS2 is like Elise to Noble - thanks JC! Anything that is 9 years old and yet can make my Noble feel slow has to have some serious respect

Another thought. The whole day was very smoothly run and well organised, with the absolute minimum of beaurocracy and so on. That everything went off without a hitch was tribute to both organiser(s) and attendees, and the whole thing had a very nice relaxed, mature feel as a result.

A real pleasure to be at, much more so than any track day I've attended. Mutual back-clapping all round.

What a fantastic day!

Many many thanks to:

Derestrictor: Uber Beetle is not the word.
Dazren: 179mph and smooth enough to mix Martinis at the same time, stunning.

In fact in light of these two I officially retract anything I have ever said bad about Porsches.

Goodlife: Entry speeds that high usually result in death, Nobles are quite superb.
Mr Tony: Italian elegance and no mistake.
Doms mate with Lotus Carlton: 160 with 4 daft mates, lush!

All in all a top day, fantastic organisation and most thanks of the day go to Greg and Emma for providing bacon and coffee at a time on a Sunday that I didnt think existed.

Fabulous

PS: Der, Goodlife and Ultra Violent I have some pics of your cars should you want them, I'll endeavour to get them uploaded to Marshy's webspace this evening.

Cheers Marshy, nice of you to say that mate.

Despite more cars than last time it went really well. Only major "oh shit" moment was literally going to fire Guy in his roadgoing black missile when two Nobles started off down the track (one was red, other blue, I think). Other than that, no problems at all organising wise.

Good call BTW whoever thought to meet up just inside the entrance - it made rounding everyone up a piece of cake when Craig turned up.

Thanks all, looking to VMAX4.

Greg (the guy in the big blue jumper)

PS thanks to those who proffered passenger rides for me and Emma

Gentlemen, what can I say........

Thanks to those of you that turned up and took part so spectaularly. Those that didnt, you missed a great day.

Greg&Emma, thanks for all your help, much appreciated as always.

Badger, your little Ibiza was the true star of the day I feel, you should be very proud.

Derestrictor, top effort on the removal of windscreen wipers and a true gent as always

JeremyC, an estate car shouldnt go that fast or corner that well, its just wrong.

Daz, once again, top speed of the day at 179mph (more speeds posted later chaps)

I was informed towards the end that at some stages there was a 20mph headwind on the main straight which is why speeds were slightly down on last time.

Joust, dont know what to say, get a good solicitor, you deserve better.

Adam, top chap, should leave with head held high.

To the Audi RS4 crew, top effort for making a true day of it, the Beemer estate full of wheels is the funniest thing in ages.

Mr T350 (I wont post your name), I know that spin wasnt intentional but it looked brilliant & my best mate Andy (who was in the car) is still gibbering.

Ultima&Lambo, my ears are still bleeding.

The Ferrari 360's, 2 great Chaps Richard & Paul, and nice to see they werent treating them with kid gloves, those cars were pushed hard.

Mr Tony, happy birthday, didnt realise, thanks for holding up the maser contingent.

The other Noble boys, you just scare me. Ibrokers son must have had the best day of his life!

Once again thanks everyone, VMAX 3 spring 2004, dates TBA.

ps. I was thinking,. next time we should tow the Smart behind one of the RS4's and see how quick it can go

Many thanks... It was great fun. Enjoyed it a lot.
Never too sure how the Ibiza compares to proper fast machinery, but I now know about straight line performance now against some lovely cars.

If anyone has clips or photos of my Ibiza in action I would love to see them...
link or email them maybe? (bill@badger5.co.uk)

cheers to all you guys.

No problem. TBH I was more concerned about you boys getting an Ultima up your chuff!

Anyway, got Guy stopped RIGHT at the last minute, so no worries.

Glad it was yesterday and not today - I'm ill in bed with flu, typing this from my laptop. Think it was all the fresh air and running about that did it. Still better out than in.

Craig,

That was one of the best track days I have ever attended, it was freindly, well organised and just plainly a dream for any petrol head! Awesome stuff!

Thank all for letting me get rides in their machinery, notably Daz in his X50 catching the Diablo at full chat!

Marshy thanks for the kind words regarding cornering, the 318i might be a shopping cart but its not bad
Simon/Derestrictor, keep me posted on your thoughts on the M5, if you need any advice...

all the very best
