It was great to see a good mix of metal (and plastic) and everyone having a chat.
Please can we play.

Ofcourse you're all welcome.... (but only if you buy me a drink )

PS: After putting three successfully reliable weeks of motoring under my belt, I think the XJR may be ready for an appearance

Reckon you should head-up any convoy with your courtesy car just to clear up any wildlife that might be around

What? You mean be seen in public in a Nissan Micra? (Assuming I am so lucky to be given such a beast! )

Sorry to hear about your wildlife drama but pleased (and surprised) that you didn't end up with an old 'dear' on your lap! Maybe with the Nissan...

Have to say that I can beat the courtesy car thing as I am driving around in a courtesy Morris Minor! Honestly. I get people smiling, waving, but mostly laughing!

I can't make the 4th either but the 11th should be fine... er, I think I'll leave the Mog at home though.

Anyone know if kids are welcome at the Woodman? If so I'll try to bring my Taz+2.

Forget the anti-stonechip paint, I'm off to stick a cow-catcher on the front. You never know, might be useful for a BBQ too - though aerodynamics may suffer slightly!

Hi Nads

I get my courtesy car tomorrow. They wanted to give me a Fiat Chinkwachenko or a Dayoo Matiz, but I said "Err....no, I'm 6ft4, give me something I can actually fit in."

So they are going to give me either a Voxhall Coarser or a Rennow Cleeo. God, I'm so excited....

Hi Diddybloke...
just seen a rear-engined V6 blast past me on the road. Was it you? Don't let them palm you off with any old Clio. Some of them seem to have a little get-up-and-go.
(Don't want to divert the thread but I wonder what the coolest courtesy car is? I know I've got the other end of the scale covered.)

Well now, lets see...

In the last couple of months I've been mostly driving around in the old XJ40 I traded in for the XJR. Not a bad car, but what did I spend 12k for! After that I had an XJ8 - until the gearbox broke, then they gave me a Rover 75 which was lethargic to say the least.

Somewhere in there I also had a Deawoo blandbox with a 3 speed auto FFS!!! At 65mph I pulled into the fast lane and planted the throttle into the nylon and it actually slowed down, dropped down a gear, hit the red line and changed up again, by which time the car I was trying to overtake was several lengths infront of me!

Regrettably, Nads,, unless I am prepared to pay extra (which I am not seeing as I won't get the car back until February) it looks like I am stuck with a slow 'un

Oh joy of joys

Just taken delivery of my courtesy vee-hickle.

It's a Voxall Bleedin Coarser.

But, and you will have to wait until tomorrow so I can fotograff it in the light of day, guess what colour it is...

OK, The results are in!

Due to popular demand we shall be meeting up on the 11th at The Woodman in Ide Hill.

www.thewoodman-idehill.co.uk/

I think lunchtime went down well last time, so say 12:30 again?

NCS: Any chance of forwarning the manager that a load of internet geeks will be descending on their premises?

Thanks to all those who voted, and for those who didn't, you can still come along but you must sit in the corner and play on your own

Looking forward to it!

Will do - might be rumbling past the door on Sunday, if not I'll give them a ring.

Any problems I'll let you know.

By the way - Jim, I like the way your courtesy car matches the flower pots in your garden - very 'contemporary'.

No! I only go out in the dark, with a balaclava on.
