Good event, Thruxton is a great location with the copious amounts of tarmac and a half decent (and reasonably priced) cafe too!

Thanks for organising PH, Mission Motorsport for the skids (I managed maybe one half decent one) and e46m3c for the hookup on a late skid pan ticket!

Well the turnout was very good, parking was lethal could have done with some grit before hand No.

Some could not walk around as felt it was not safe, sorry to say did not stay long??

What a brilliant day. Thanks PH, met some great people - and we were able to raise more than 2K on the day.

Race circuits don't use grit, sorry. That includes the paddock, one for next year just to brief people.

My mustang with fat 305mm summer tyres faired a lot better than I did when I got out of the car and spectacularly binned it on my first step! Was a little surprised to see the infield section hadn't been salted but wasn't expecting the track to have been gritted.

Cowboy boots should be kept for line dancing. I had walking boots and was fine.

On a serious note I hope you’re ok and could continue your day?

Ha, at least the cowboy hat kept my head warm!

Silly me I thought as I was off to the skid pan I'd wear thin soled shoes to get better pedal feel so as to NOT make a t1t of myself on the skid pad. But thin soled shoes on ice was a different matter and I made a t1t of myself anyway! All good, only pride hurt smile

Had a quick skim through, looks good and will watch fully start to finish in my next work break smile

Here's another youtube video I found from someone else who must've been there

Also there's a few different videos of people on the skid pans too if you just search for Pistonheads Sunday Service and set it to the last week on the search filters smile

It'd be cool to make one of these maybe next year if I have a car by then and there's something closer to the North West side. Otherwise or in any case, maybe I'll have to have a look at Caffeine & Machine's schedule too biggrin

You will always be lacking events from PH in the north west just as they’re based down south and a large portion of members that way.

We'll be at the Motorist in Yorkshire on the 7th May next year, but that's the furthest north we'll be getting I'm afraid! Hopefully you can make it thumbup

Thanks to everyone for sharing all the photos and videos, some cracking shots!

Did anyone get any photos on people on the Skidpan?

Did see a guy with a DLR camera and lens taking decent pictures just curious if he got any of me struggling to keep the Mazda on the skidpan smile

Here's my photos from the morning. It seems I unintentionally mostly shot M3s on the skid pan... https://www.flickr.com/photos/72728121@N05/albums/...
