It's only a 900 mile round trip! wink

You could fly, shouldn't cost too much!

I'm up for any dissorganised event wink

As a note, the british F3 and GT are on 7th and 8th June at.....wait for it...Snetterton rolleyes

Seriously thought, as an actual venue (apart from in being in the middle of nowhere) it's not too bad.

There's plenty of space
Some additional toilets wouldn't be too expensive, and certainly would be a welcome addition though.

It was only the weather that put a dampner on proceedings, the weather alone. Walking to toilets and showers in decent weather wouldn't have been that bad.

I'm up for where ever it's decided to go.

When we said we wanted somewhere with less rain than Snetterton, we weren't really thinking of anywhere that only fitted the category because all the water falls as snow! wink

Personally I don't care where it is, Snetterton is ace for me (40 min drive) but as missus kerbed my Le Mans trip - springing surprise wedding invite on me - I will be dissapearing to where ever it may be.

The problem was that the showers were like something out of a public school with no privacy and trying to get dry in that freezing weather in a big open changing room meant I had to talk it down before I could pee afterward frown Becca also had major issues with the accessible toilet that Snetterton gladly proclaimed they had as it was the other side of the site and near-impossible to use according to her.

My main issue was that I brought the dodgy sleeping bags I had as I had little warning that I was going and will go out and buy some army green maggots next time. I don't want to sleep in the MR2 with the engine running again...

The showers were fine, does anybody honestly care if they have to shower next to some blokes? Nobody gives a st if theres wangers swinging about everywhere,(unless it was thewaves baldy one, the gayer) It was just like the gym. Except the ones at snet even had curtains! WRT becca, it was a shame it didnt suit her needs but its a camping festival afterall.

hehe

I was going to post something similar yesterday but refrained, but you're right, it's not like we're at school anymore. Showers were hot and wet, what more do you want? Becca_s situation wasn't ideal, but i'm sure something could be sorted for wherever we are next.

Anyway, PH have stated there are no plans for PF as yet, and something will be sorted in the summer frown

The Snetterton showers were a highlight! Lovely warm and toasty. biggrin I don't care where we go, so long as the showers are at least as good. You haven't lived if you thought those were bad! laugh

So where are we next year?
Maybe somewhere more central or even, dare I say it "northun!" ... possibly Peak District or, if access to a race track is a must, maybe Cadwell or Oulton.

No idea if any more thought has been given though.

I would be up for an un-official PF, as long as it's in the summer and somewhere pleasant.

If there does turn out to be an official PF, announced in the summer, for somewhere cold and windy in the autumn, they can consider themselves sidelined.
clap

Isnt it UK BOB we need to be asking. remember PH at Cadwell. it was cool.
it worked and it was very clicky. even if the Bentley did get doughnutted.

frown There is now pretty much no chance of my ever going to a PH overnight event ever again, as I experienced a very severe progression in my condition in November that has increased my equipment needs a lot. So to anyone that was already prepared to dismiss my and the several other PH wheelchair users' needs: congratulations, you're one bolshie crip down.

Surely not? Ok, camping events are going to be right out but then again camp-sites aren't exactly wheelchair-friendly environments anyway (unless you have a chair based on a quad bike - which could be fun).

But I don't see why you can't come to a Black Tie & Pie event. The kinds of hotels we use are surely going to have exemplary facilities?

Apparently something might be organised in the summer. When it will be too late. frown

If we want a gathering of the faithful this year, we're going to have to improvise and set it up on our own I think.

Mmm... my access needs include a profiling ('hospital') bed, a hoist, an alternating dual-cell air mattress, adapted toilet seat and shower cradle and the support of two people 24 hours a day, currently.

It's proving remarkably hard to get that sorted out to go back to my own home, let alone off on jaunts.

Poor old Becca.

Looks like PF is a definite no-no for you, but BT&P may still be within the realms of possibility, perhaps.

Sounds good to me. Anyone put any plans in motion?

Rather than one person take the burden, how about a small group of us get together to cobble something up?

It could be no more than finding a decent enough camping field with facilities, and just reserve 100 or so pitches, with a pay on the gate. Or a more detailed event with a Marquee, bar & band, which would need a fair bit more organisation, and proper accounting/payment, not to mention some sort of commercial liability cover.
