PHers Camping Weekend (was PistonFest 2008)
Discussion
Events have to be organised months in advance, and also publicised months in advance if attendees are expected to have their diaries clear, so it's fair to summise that the chances of an official PistonFest this year are extremely low.
I do think that it would be polite and reasonable for PistonHeads to make an an official announcement that there are no plans for an official PistonFest this year though, and stop the speculation.

PistonFest has always been an event 'in the balance'.
The first year was a great success, but subsequent events never lived up to it. Each year I had to make a call as to whether to run it. I didn't in 2005, tried Snet in 2006 with limited success and when Haymarket took over they decided to try it in 2007 (I wouldn't have run 2007 if I still owned PH then).
Roll on 2008 and it was decided to run the track evenings with BBQ after as PH meets this year. Granted, this isn't the same as a 'fest, but that's where we're at.
As to why this wasn't communicated on this thread, I don't know.

if a large group is going, then a portaloo would have to be arranged, as there is only one loo (with a shower... and a load of dog food for the owners lovely & friendly dog)Hill Farm, Moor Lane, Barrow-on-Trent

ETA - i believe there is a couple of electric hook up at one end of the field - for those with caravans/motorhomes - or just for providing lighting for a portaloo

Am happy to help organise this BTW
Ted - hope you don't mind this?
Right you lot
If anyone is interested in camping for the Moto GP the weekend on 20th/21st/22nd June, please email me via my profile, by next Wednesday (for initial numbers!).
I just need numbers of potentially interested parties - no need for definate numbers yet.
Please let me know in your email :-
Your PH Id, your email address and the number of people and any children coming (as this will be per person per night event).
To give you a rough idea of cost - less than a night at the cinema each (I hope) To include pitch, beer tent hire, and our own latrines & showers (which we will hire)
EVERYTHING else you will have to bring/pay for yourselves - entry to the GP, food, beer etc....
