Hi All,

There has been a bit of a faff with numbers and track time, which we apologise for - when the event went live, Silverstone's website was down and track time was unavailable to book for a while. Our attendee list then filled up and those that wanted to book track time didn't want to as they assumed it was full, or something along those lines. We have confirmed now that the space for the track time does not include the 500 attendees on our list, so we will make room for you in the paddock if you want to book track time, just explain at the gate that you have booked track time and they will direct you to the paddock.

Hopefully that clears things up but let me know if you have any more questions!

Sign on time for the first session is 0730, the briefing for the first two sessions is at 0820.

See you Sunday!

Should be in the email from Silverstone:

Here's the opening line from mine:

Are people with track time being removed from the 500 to allow more people to attend as a spectator ?

Didn't get that e-mail from Silverstone. Thank you for the heads up.

Regarding insurance, where is the best place to go? I tried 'insure my trackday' and the quote is £277.50 with a £3600 excess and a 41k payout on a 45k car for morning session onyl. Is this reasonable?

With the news of Moris not being able to insure this year, I won't be needing my track sessions (11:20 & 10:10 intermediate) - if anyone wants them @ £40 each, PM me.

Sadly my track time (09:35 - Novice) may be available as well as i cant justify almost £300 for 30 minutes on track of which i won't. £40 to the first PM i get.

Unfortunately I too will not be using my track time. frown InsureMyTrackday quoted £853 for 30mins track time in a 991 Turbo. Granted the value of the car is high, but thats £28/min eek
Guess I'll have to purchase a cheaper tack car. God only knows what they would charge for a day at the ring!

I feel sorry for people here TBH, shelling out for track time under the false pretence of discounted/subsidised insurance being available

Unfortunately not. It would be a task which would potentially cause mayhem! Removing people from the list who don't see this thread will be expecting an email, to which we would receive 100+ emails on Friday asking where their joining instructions are.

Silverstone aren't allowing an increase in numbers, however, people who have booked track time that didn't make it onto the list will be allowed through to the paddock to go on track.

Track session people are dropping like flies at the moment. I won't be going on track too if it's raining!

Theres only 3 of us from PH attending on Sunday so we're rather short staffed, so we would really reallyyyyyy appreciate some PH goodness and find 3 or 4 volunteer marshall's to help us park cars! smile

Your payment will be a free breakfast & coffee, a t-shirt of your choice and legend status! Drop me an email if you're interested, and thank you in advance if you're willing to help thumbup

Thanks for the info regarding insurance and number of spots available for the day.

I am booked into the 11:55 Novice session, is anyone aware if I need to attend the 8:20 briefing too? Or will there be individual briefings per track session? It's not specified anywhere but as it's my first time out, I don't want to miss it!

I'm getting insurance through InsureMyTrackday, £99 for me including recovery smile

Sign on at 10:35, briefing at 11:15 for your session.

But you don't HAVE to wait until then: You can sign on and go to any briefing up to 10:35/11:15, but the later it is, the less of a scrum it is.

I'm a builder and I can tell you that none of us pay any attention to the forecast - if we did we'd only work 1/2 the time.

Turn up and see - it's the only way.

Actually ignore that... presumably there are some track sessions being sold off cheap or do Silverstone allow cancellations ?

I have a track session at 9.00am for sale if anyone wants to take it (due to cost of insurance else where).
