According to google, it was some sort of charity drag day.

Far be it from me to comment

We have plenty of 4 pot cars that turn up and have a great day. In fact, the most popular car for passenger rides by far is a certain slightly worn tyred 4-potter belonging to a quiet unassuming chap by the name of Smiffy

Yup, myself in a VX220 and usually Davey in his Exige and Neil in his Golf.

I only ever quote facts mate & that aint Bragging, hard to take though I suppose.
tv2005 was an event for Supercars, I was refused an entry, told the ornanisers I would run a 200mph , he looked at my site & allowed me to enter.

I admit I was going to enter Vmax as a test day for my new Spec engine but after my reception on here would not get too warm a welcome or I suspect even be invited. That sounds fair this event is a success without people like me entering. Have a good one & do your best everyone.

Does rather sound like he's desperate for VMAX to be elitist.

Well,Guy R took off his rear wing and gained about 4mph!
Not many women going so tape probably not needed...

Spent the early afternoon swapping the exhausts over on the Exige.

No one as far as I'm aware has said "Rod you can't come because your car is a heap of shit". Your car can't pass the noise test and that's pretty much the only thing getting in your way. You are not alone, normaly Vmax 'sells out' in minutes, but because of the noise limits we have struggled to get enough participents to make the next Vmax go ahead. You are making an issue out of nothing.

My car has never failed a noise test at Brunters so where does that nonsence come from, its my road car with a full road twin box exhaust system,I made a comment that the Limit is not taken in the main straight so why drive fast round the rest of the circuit & my car was asummed to be cheating the system, spoke to Dave at Brunters & he confirmed my car was not a prob. Craig sent me a text to say it was not his view either thanks Craig.
Not making any issues out of anything, your at the next vmax im not. I received a text from Craig asking me to attend, I was in Canada on my Hols, without mobile access so I didnt get the message.
Rod
ps. What is your own car likely to run, I assume its a Porsche. Thats more interesting than whether my car is too Loud or not.

You could look into events such Ten Of The Best- a few PH forums go each year -not under the PH banner though, but do include the Viper forum, Vette forum and Japchat. GuyR and a few others from the Porsche forum have gone too.

As I undersatnd it Elvington has as much issue with Nimby's as Bruntingthorpe do.

Maybe start a thread in the Viper forum asking what events they attend? (they are the loudest bunch here!)

TOTB @ Elvington is a 105DB static in the pit test this year, no noise monitoring out on track. Nadine and Joel's are the only vipers running this year and are muffling there exhaust notes for this event. I know both of them would love to run at VMAX but currently they are both to noisy

back tonight from Knockhill with Nad no noise limits there, just as well not much good for max speed more like a mini Nurgbergring its up/down, blind crests and blind bends, quite narrow well worth a visit though would suit Guy's porsche

there is no Terminal Velocity (Woodbridge) this year unfortunately
