As it was my first run and with damp patches and tyres that are better in the dry, you were going quick enough for me. Besides - it's not exactly the slowest "shopping trolley" around, is it??
(I was more worried about holding up the Yellow Ultima behind me!)

The Yellow Ultima was having plenty of 'moments' as well so the pace suited me. You would think 335 wide tyres would grip better but it does not seem that way. I swear there were some places I could have handled better in my Pug 306 D-Turbo.

Hi Guys, apologies for letting the pack get away from us in the initial part of the run, but hopefully the fact we didn't get lost more then made up for the 'sluggish' pace after leaving the car park.

But then again I do drive a hairdressers car!! (Red Boxster)

I was in the silver Griff at the front and I didn't know whether I was going too fast or too slow for the pack. The cars behind me were keeping up easily so I figured I didn't need to slow up too much. The road conditions were certainly a little 'challenging' in places (damp and muddy) - at times I was wheel-spinning in fourth gear (there's no TC on a TVR) so it was full concentration - especially as we had no one to follow so we were navigating as well. A good crack though! I did reach some interesting speeds in third and fourth on one or two of the straights.

I think it was a dead sheep and it's OK I got the pheasant on his third attempt at trying to cross. rofl (One thing about the Atom not only can you see road kill close up, but in summer you get to smell it too!)

You weren't that slow, its just that something weighing about 1/4 of your weight can get off the mark sharpish when it wants to overtake

I missed the actual run, but turned up when you were all just finishing breakfast with a MGR V8 & another Ultima. Very nice selection of cars, I wish I'd come for the drive.

I did see a Tuscan and the Z4 on the A3 afterwards, both sounding nice...

Anyway - pictures of mine: www.isitaboat.co.uk/cruises/piston_heads_hayling_island_2007/

Hopefully I'll make it to one some day.

Hopefully see some of you on Sunday for the Goodwood Breakfast Club?

My girlfriend thinks I'm nuts...'why do we have to drive from brighton to Guildford just to drive down to Chichester again?'

The Z4M and Tuscan Coupe belong to Sixspeed and myself. We were doing a performance comparison with the result being that they are both quite quick hehe and reasonabnly similar in performance. Not going to say any more than that

And Sixpeed has his usual plate on his new steed...same as on his old TuscanS, RX8 and VX220t

No bumpers on an Atom Just clocked it a good left hook with the front left tyre.

T'was meee.. I've been very lazy and not really gone through the pics properly until I saw this post. Obviously, single-handedly hanging the camera out the window and clicking in hope of catching something good doesn't yield the highest success rate, but here's a few of the better ones (not that great though!)

Good work Andy. Hope the stonechips weren't too bad from the A3 experience.

I kept seeing you weave and something sticking out the window, took me a while to realise what you were up to? I was in the grey Impreza.

Nah, looked worse than it was. Once I'd washed it it was fine. Just the one chip on the windscreen. Doh!

Actually, tbh, there were quite a few black oil spots from your car though.... :-/

I was very impressed with rx7 turn of speed and the mini's handling, and i was quite funny the feedback from the S2000 owner who was follwing me i think it was Stoat about the diahatsu's handling i.e the front was planted but the back seemed to go anywhere it wanted to

A brilliant run down despite the weather and road conditions it was a huge blast and definitely to be repeated when it gets a bit warmer. Even the drive back was a hoot especially some stretches of the A3

Nice to meet familiar faces as well as new ones and enjoy plenty of automotive eye candy.

I've posted my pix on the FB5K forum but for those that can't get there try this option
http://s42.photobucket.com/albums/e32

The most recent shots are from the dawn run followed by various other runs including various Goodwood brekkie club ones and others from the one and only Furball5000 2006.

More fun Italian style April 1st at Goodwood... ciao
