I can understand those with expensive cars feeling differently.

You don't really have choice if car is financed, part of the agreement the car is always insured. Otherwise I would probably take the risk.

Is it as simple as giving someone the confirmation email from Silverstone to pass over track time? I have contacted them and waiting for a reply.

I asked yesterday about transferring the track time and they are fine with it provided you update them with the name of the new driver and their car details, passing on the information about it needing to be a safe vehicle and within noise limits.

We usually wouldn't, but in this instance where there was technical difficulty on Silverstone's end which caused confusion, we will. So yes, confirmed
