Is it just me or was anyone else annoyed by the person that turned up in the Civic, bouncing the engine off the limiter despite requests in the PH mails to drive sensibly. I know not everyone strictly adhered to the limits on the way in/out but they certainly took to the Nth degree.
Me too - I cringed when I heard it doing that on Wellington Way even before it had even entered the MBW area and then it carried on doing it on the road in. I also winced when I heard a couple of other people getting a bit too overenthusiastic on the stretch after the PH marshals, but the civic seemed to be the worst by far.drakart said:

It wasn't just you. My friend (in the SLR) and I both looked towards the road and said, "Oh dear!". At least people actually want to hear something like the SLR give it some beans! lifebegins@400 said:

Anyone look closely at the 450 SEL 6.9 inside? Formerly owned by a certain James Hunt?
Whoever did the restore on it should be fking shot! Piss poor panel gaps, rear wheel arch repairs very obvious and paint runs all over the place
Perhaps the same person who painted the black c63 upstairs on the AMG floor - do you pay extra for an orange peel finish or is that standard...? Whoever did the restore on it should be fking shot! Piss poor panel gaps, rear wheel arch repairs very obvious and paint runs all over the place
We all know the finish on new car's isn't great.

No-one noticed me when I did it, probably because I have a really quiet vehicle in the grand scheme of things....

Well, I saw a few people drifting around the plastic bollards at the bottom of the entry straight

Seeing/hearing some of the cars accelerating down the entry straight was brilliant (my God, Gallardos sound good!). - Nobody I saw took it too far or did anything silly IMO.It was nice though hearing people give it a bootful down the straight both coming and going - especially the several TVRs with rather free-flowing exhausts! Why pick on the Civic? Quite a few others gave it full throttle down the entry straight.
I would agree that a few people put their foot down when leaving but, in my opinion, there is a marked difference between giving it some beans before slowing down and driving like a barry boy. TBH, if I was marshaling he would have been turned away as it reflected badly on everyone else, even my 4 year old failed to be impressed by it.Quite agree, this was another excellent SS, thanks to PH and MBW for making it that way. Some fantastic cars on display as ever but for me, my favourite was the E28 M5.
Got a chance to sit in the new S63 AMG but the highlight for me was the fast laps in the C63 Black series....an impressive piece of kit.

I think there's a bit of snobbery going on here. Either it's OK to give it some or it's not; I don't think type of car should be a deciding factor. From the sound, the Civic clearly had a big turbo installed and I found it pretty interesting.
No snobbery from me, I appreciate a well modified car as much as a factory fresh Ferrari but my issue was the manner in which it was driven. Skaffen said:

Agreed.PH provide a free event that's well organised. As guesta we were given one reasonable rule. Shame on the few that couldn't manage it. Especially as we all effectively represent Pistonheads to the hosting organisation.

That's nice to hear thank you (especially amongst all the amazing cars!) - the E28 is mine. I didn't try getting a picture of it as I only had my phone and the sun seemed to be in the 'wrong' place. It wasn't very clean either! I don't suppose anyone else did with some decent equipment?[quote=airbrakes] It was nice though hearing people give it a bootful down the straight both coming and going - especially the several TVRs with rather free-flowing exhausts!quote]
Can't think who that would have been...... all speed limits were kept to, they never said anything about making noise though officer.

I got a pic of it: page 6, but then again not sure my camera qualifies as "decent equipment" Great car!
