We also did the same, left the event at 2 and stopped off at C&M on the way back up North.

What were you in?
I was in an i20N but my mate was in a dark blue original R8 and they asked him to park at the front which made his day.

We'd never done it, its very well done, great service and got to say for a simple bar menu the food was cracking, the smash burger was really nice. Staff were also really polite considering it looks a tough job. id go again if passing or if a particular event on,

I do have a few questions.

Firstly and most importantly, was the boxster roof broken the one parked near the big screen as it was left mid cycle all day, even in the rain, so can only assume it was broken?????
.
I had a different question about that car and asked the question on boxa.net. It is an amazing project. Audi engine transplant, twin turbo and 500+ bhp and lots of other stuff.

I am sure it’s on here somewhere but this is where I found it. https://www.boxa.net/topic/74643-phoenix-from-the-...

Brilliant event, thanks PH. Was cool to display my B7. I thought the event was really good with an eclectic selection of cars thumbup

Does anyone know where can I watch the readers' cars videos that were showing on the big screen during the day, have they been uploaded somewhere? Didn't get chance on the day but would enjoy watching them. Cheers!

At the end of the day I also teamed up with member LankyMcTally and his gorgeous E39 M5 for some green Super Saloon pics beer

What a handsome pair - makes today’s quick saloons look over-wrought, fussy and too “try hard”.
Agreed. I’d rather have either of them than most modern super saloons.

I saw the Boxster owning rushing to connect the roof back up (Two metal cables that needed clipped to something?) when it started raining so it did work.

Did like these…

Had a chat about the 6R4 and plan to visit them at some point. Never realised they worked with Alfaholics and GM.

Loved this as well, it was the day after at Boxengasse, but it’s so stunning.

Other mention is for the Powerflex Mooper. I don’t think I’ve seen a level of detailing put into a car in many years. It’s beautiful.

Vini is stunning .

I enjoyed the thread and first saw it at FOS but it was behind ropes.

Getting the chance to properly look round it here was amazing.

The detailing is off the scale.

Me and a few mates were looking at it, all of us are involved in quite high end engineering and were blown away. It’s beyond factory fit, but looks like what someone like BMW could do if they threw everything at it. A stunning result, beyond’ just’ an engine swap.

lastly like others have said, a bit of blurb on the car and user name of the owner. would have been a nice touch.
Yeah, I noticed some cars did have something like that and it's a good idea. I should have done it, then you wouldn't have thought my car was broken!

It does look strange with the roof in the service position but I figured the engine swap is what makes it interesting and would be what people who've read the thread would want to see. Even with the covers off there isn't that much to see, it's more more interesting from underneath.

It got opened and closed a few times that day!

Entrance price way too high, that's why I didn't go, the cars we own are the stars that make the show, so to pay out the best part of a Hundred quid for a tank of fuel, get up at stupid oclock travel to event then be expected to pay £25 for other owners of cars to look at said car, sorry too much!
£5.00 fair enough but not £25.00 Also I'm mainly an American car fan so looking at a load of BMWs and Daily drive Porsches does nothing for me, but did notice a Nice 917 in Gulf colours thumbup

Don't be offended, just some honest feedback should you at PH decide to host another show.

Had you attended I think your opinion might have been slightly different.

Yes there were lots of Porsches, probably more than the BMW's, but also almost every other manufacturer you could think of from affordable daily drivers to cars that we can only dream of owning.

If you are a fan of American cars then fair enough but there was a wonderful Corvette there.

Not sure PH can be responsible for the cost of fuel, the distance you are from the event or the cars people arrive in.

£5 might be possible for a small event ran by volunteers in a free car park but for almost 6000 visitors the ground hire, marshalls and other essential costs will inevitably stack up.

I enjoyed it - having been to a few of the Scramble events at Bicester I knew what to expect. It's not the first time PH has had a presence there - back in 2018 there was a PH area as part of the Classic and Sportscar show, so I guess that would have been the 20th anniversary event.
I had hoped to bring my Spitfire but what with the iffy weather forecast and a few other factors I had to take my mum's E90 325, which at least is RWD, manual and sounds nice, so fitted in well with the sea of other BMWs in the car park! smile

For an event hosted at Bicester Heritage, £20 is pretty much the going rate, so I don't really get all the moaning about cost. As soon as you step out of the door these days stuff costs money - may as well have a nice day out of it! Driving a car is expensive anyway, so what's another few £ for some enjoyment when you spend more than that filling up to commute to work week in week out...
