I was the guy in the Ferrari going at my own pace. It was only the second time I had driven the car so it was all a bit new (and first time on track for 5 years), did take it out of wet mode once and it all got a bit ugly so I thought discretion was the better part of valour, mind you though I did come up with a new laxative formula, damp Silverstone track + Ferrari 458 + race mode, really does get your bowels moving ! I am not making excuses, but the wet mode made it very limited on power exiting corners, still, there are plenty of brave souls and plenty of foolish souls, but not many brave fools.
On another note, what was under the bonnet of that red Evo ?, driver was a bit useful also !
I thought the drivers briefing was spot-on. Enough information to warn you of the perils of a track event but not too much to scare you. Also a pretty good double act, much funnier and more original than Ant & Dec, who will never be Morcambe & Wise no matter how much they try, but that's another matter and I am quite sure they don't care what I think, especially when they are on the way to the bank.
All-in-all a really good day, just wished it was about 20 degrees warmer. Cheers PistonHeads.
No problem mate, as I said it was obvious you knew what you were doing. It probably looked worse from the pit wall angle... anyway all's well that ends well!
Copse at speed in the M3 must have been interesting, I was struggling for grip and traction in the Audi!
The red evo is mine - only had if a few months - affectionately know as HUE.its running 400bhp which is pretty tame really for EVO's but the handling, brakes and tyres fill you with confidence. Been used to FWD cars for a couple of years, also own a new type R which is great also but HUE is the best fun to drive, drifting it on corners at around 100 is ass twitching good fun. Your Ferrari is beautiful. On another note, what was under the bonnet of that red Evo ?, driver was a bit useful also !

...noticed a white M3 getting a bit close to a RS4 on the home straight. Yikes.
I was in the RS4 and yes it was a bit close, the Ferrari driver in front was going at his own pace (which is fair enough). I'd been sitting back and was just starting to pass on the straight when the M3 came blasting through.
To be fair he was driving quickly and could drive but he had no idea if I could or not!
If I had stayed on line it could have become messy!
It was minor thing really and overall the driving standard was good. I do agree with some of the comments that the briefing was a bit vague on the rules and trackday etiquette.
Even experienced trackday veterans could do with a reminder that we're there for a bit of fun.
All in all another great Sunday Service... Thanks PH!
Sorry I went past you. As I was approaching quickly under throttle, I made the decision to go past quickly as you moved over to the right. I felt it was safer than to brake hard to match your speed and go off the racing line. I was prepared for you to veer left, as there was sufficient runoff to my left and straight ahead. I forgot to set my Gopro to spot metering so everything outside the window looks super bright
Me too! Ah well, will just have to have another go!Don't suppose anyone got any photos of my grey Civic Type R in the last session of the day? Think a lot of people had gone by that point

Although I wasn't there I have looked through most of the photos & loving them all.
A question from a rookie photographer is how have people gone about capturing the cars. I have only had one attempt at it & most if not all of the photos were blurry.
I read this and had a stab. Took about 200 shots and ended up with 55 decent ones...thank god i don't have to buy film!A question from a rookie photographer is how have people gone about capturing the cars. I have only had one attempt at it & most if not all of the photos were blurry.

Who was the blue E60 in the first session? does anybody know? My friend had a very nice "pantcrapping" moment and he was right behind him so we're wondering if he's got a recording of it
That would be me. Was your friend in a silver Clio? I recorded the whole session, but unfortunately I forgot to set my Gopro to spot metering so everything outside the window looks super bright! Got great exposure on my interior though
Yes i was driving the silver 182. It was a Honda type R as well behind me. Any one here?

Had a great morning watching the vast array of cars being used as they should be, cheers PH. Great to meet the owner of the green GT3, lovely car and top bloke. Good to meet the other Caterham chaps as well!
Was behind the orange Caterham when it had a big loose round copse but well held by the driver First time out on track with the Caterham and had a fantastic time, was a bit careful as there was no grip in the 10.45 session!! Here's a few highlights https://youtu.be/MUfKLSc42fc
If anyone as any pics of the rubystone red (errr pink) Caterham let me know.
