As things stand, I'm attending on my own Sunday (slightly unexpected). Do those at PH towers need to know this in advance so that 'my' spare ticket can be allocated elsewhere or not allocated to me at all?
ETA: This situation could change.
No, it really doesn't change things as we can't easily monitor a list of people, only really a list of cars. ETA: This situation could change.

What it means on the day is that people who turn up with three adults who haven't bought in advance *might* get in (although there's no guarantee) and we'll certainly be placing extra emphasis on those people for a close to equivalent bucket contribution if we do let them in!

My 1 year old daughter isn't warming to her newly acquired ear defenders Any idea how loud the XX range and other racers are? Obviously the F1 cars are uber molto loud (see what I did there). Just wondering how close I can get it she doesn't wear the defenders too much.
Honestly, I wouldn't put my 1 year old too close without them. I spend a lot of time around historic race events and you don't tend to see little ones without ear defenders. I feel your pain - I can't see either of my kids putting up with that too readily, but I think that you should persevere! We'll be printing the list first thing tomorrow morning, but there will be no more email updates. So for those who have lost the email or didn't get it, the contents of the email basically say this:
- Turn up between 8 and 11.
- Come to the car park to the left of the main entrance. There should be a gate open just before the main entrance roundabout, with a friendly bloke waving you in.
- Once inside, we'll check your names on the list, issue you with a car parking pass and entry tickets.
- Empty as much of your cash as you're willing to donate into the buckets of our friendly Mission Motorsport chaps/chapesses. As your tickets are free, we're trying to use this to raise as much as possible for a great cause.
- From there you'll proceed across the car park and out again, which takes you to the main gate. There the Silverstone security folk will officially collect your ticket and allow you in.
- If you have children under 15 with you, tickets for them will be issued by the gate staff. This is just a formality to ensure that everyone who comes in has received the "motorsport is dangerous" disclaimer.
- Proceed into the circuit, carrying straight on over the first bridge, and down to the roundabout where arrows and a helpful PHer will point you towards the parking area. Normal parking disciplines are required, and we think we're going to be quite tight. So please try to park as close as possible - nothing which would see you make the bad parking thread, basically.
I'll be with the gate team, and Garlick will be with the parking team. Do say hello as you come through.
That's basically it. Have a great day - we're looking forward to this one more than most.

Apologies if this has already been answered elsewhere, I did try looking through the previous pages but there are sooo many!
Is the list finalised when it's printed? I.e. if it gets printed at 6am and I'm #720, then at 7am 25 people drop out and I turn up expecting to get in, will I be turned away because I'm not on the "printed at 6am" list?
If so, what time does the official printing take place?
Thanks
It'll be printed at about 6am. That's the last version we'll take. Is the list finalised when it's printed? I.e. if it gets printed at 6am and I'm #720, then at 7am 25 people drop out and I turn up expecting to get in, will I be turned away because I'm not on the "printed at 6am" list?

However I think the likelihood of so many people dropping out is slight at that stage - those who aren't going to turn up just won't.

Yesterday was my 1st SS and my 1st at lending a helping hand at the gate checking people in through our make shift coned area. I'm sure some people thought our coned lanes was an Autotest area admittedly the muppet in the hi-vis jacket was as much use a chocolate fire guard, I’m sure he was a highly trained individual, but in what I don’t know
It was a superb day, although I wish this was a 4x4 forum as getting on your knees to be at eye level to check names is only so good the following day, especially when your 6’+ !
I thoroughly enjoyed the whole day, although, the highlight was probably having a chat with people on the gate and trying to get a smile out of people, oh and seeing an F40 on track
Fantastic day out and congratulations to everyone involved in organising the day. Hopefully we also collectively raised a shed load of money for Mission Motorsport
Great day out.
Thank you very much for your help, it was much appreciated. Buckets went back to Mission Motorsport absolutely brimming, so we're all looking forward to what the total was.It was a superb day, although I wish this was a 4x4 forum as getting on your knees to be at eye level to check names is only so good the following day, especially when your 6’+ !

Had an awesome day, so thanks to all involved for organising the SS.
And on another positive note - my 1 year old kept her ear defenders on ALL DAY LONG! Yay! She'll be making her way to ALOT more motorsport events now
Absolutely loved the XX programme. Gutted that the F40 LM broke but atleast I got the chance to stand next to it in the pits whilst a couple of guys fettled with it.
As a fellow petrol head parent - what defenders did you get?And on another positive note - my 1 year old kept her ear defenders on ALL DAY LONG! Yay! She'll be making her way to ALOT more motorsport events now
