super Run Jay - was my first Kent run and my first PH Run in my car (Grey 7)

Our group was mainly led by the G9 VRS, which was done well. Also enjoyed hoonign around at the very back with my mate in the Green Westfield - we took ages getting lidded and gloved up buckled in and settled after every stop

Oh and 20 litre fuel tank held up well!

What a censoreding great day!!!
Big thanks to Jay for ANOTHER bloody great job "You is d'man" as I believe they say these days.
Great to meet you guys. Can't wait for the next bash once I have the bits sorted on the Murtaya.
Look forward to meeting you again for another trundle.
Also I owe lunch to someone out there - you know who you are - thanks for bailing me out after I ran out of change, top man!

I think secretly Dan ate the squirrel, that's why there was none left.

TOP WORK JAY! Excellent Hooning.

Firstly a thanks to my mate Lee who let me use his Eunos MX5 as my R1 Phoenix was still in bits. I now have an even bigger admiration for the little cars as you can drive them 10/10ths, something you cannot do with faster cars.

And to eveyone in our group led by the Skoda VR, with the Exige, Megabusa, R1 Indy, RA Subaru, SLK et al.

Topped the day off nicely with a blat around the Ford Test track in Clarkeson's old Ford GT, all 650bhp of it! (Phil?? nice work) 150mph+ glancing behind through the glass looking at the supercharger belt spinning Mad-Max style!

And a final thanks for the weather!

I feel sorry for those who missed out not being able to get a place, because of those who put there name down for the run AND DID NOT TURN UP!!!! (as usually happens...)

Thanks to Jay for putting it together, and thanks to the guy leading the 2nd group out, perfectly marshalled and a brilliantly timed toilet break! Special mention to the Supra (savage power) and to the Cossie's with the little licks of flame.

To my embarrassment, it seems it was BMW drivers doing most of the darting around & I found it a bit distracting.
Hopeit wasn't me giving us a bad name, I did overtake the Black CSL once but you had slowed up considerably, didn't know it was you until I was past frown

I thought it was going to be a mad one when the Grey CSL et al left me for dead after about 30 seconds, but most of the drivers were being sensible and the roads/route was fantastic, just gutted I had to have a pit stop just before the little stretch of motorway at the end, I can only imagine that you guys weren't doing 70!)

Must have been a record road kill for a run(I'm sure one of them was a dog yikes) Great to meet so many like minded petrolheads, very glad I got my arse out of bed, it was well worth it and can't wait for the next one. Cheers!

I can only assume all roadkill was by leading groups as i saw no animals at all and so far as i know none of the people i was with hit anything.

As a side note there were two csl m3's at second stop one had csl cup stickers on side windows is it in some way different to the normal csl as i didnt get a chance to find the owner and ask?

Thank you Jay so much for your effort. I did try to find you to thank you at the test track, saw your car but not you. This was my third run, although only the second in my car, and the first one I've finished. Was 380 miles in all, and £150 in fuel, but well worth it. All be it a struggle to keep things under control with 1 hand. Absolute quality, can't wait for the next one, complete with two hands next time and more power. Top man Jay !!!

Departed For Maidstone at 4:15am, the motorway was almost empty! This was just like the early morning starts I do each year to Le Mans, Bloody great thumbup Stopped of for Fuel at Bluebell hill and while filling up a couple of cars shot past biggrin

I ended up in the first group lead by Black Frog, Really great to meet you guys and top job for managing to keep most of the group together. As for the Badger which was lying in the middle of the road, it was not any of us in the First Group wink
Have to say I found some of the roads rather entertaining hehe Those chicanes on the road by the canal were interesting hehe I think the bloke in the BMW at the roundabout in Rye got well and truly woken up by squealing rubber hehe Good to see you again 'John'

Sorry I lost you guys on the last stretch, I had a couple of slow cars in front of me and by the time we got on the dual carriageway you guys were long gone, I could not reach my written directions in time for the turn off and ended up turning off at the next Jcton, I cut across fairly quickly to get to the right road but I guess I came out behind you guys frown
As for those bloody speed ramps at the ford test track, Ford should be shot frown Finally, A PERSONEL THANK YOU TO JAY..... Just Brilliant, You is 'Da Man' thumbup

So to sum the day up, 3 TANKS of Fuel gone and totally knackered, Bloody Great smile

Shame you didn't bring the 1275GT. This was my first car and I really want to get another one now.

As much fun as the mini is in the twisties, it would have stuggled to keep up on the straights as it red lines at a lower speed than we might have been doing this morning!
It was nice to see an F40 being used properly on the road.

Looking forward to the next one.

Ah, 40 winks. Much needed and now done. Think I'm getting old.... Now fully refreshed, my mind turns to the mornings activities...

Early, early 50 mile run across the empty East Sussex/Kent country roads to the rendez-vous. Arrived bang on time and got waved to the front of the Q by Mr Jay KentRun...time to really wake up now then!

We're off! First 40 mins or so in darkness along mostly unfamiliar roads guided only by TomTom and with an RS Focus (mk.1 driven by Neil) up my chuff. Felt like a tarmac road stage at times! Wiggle, wiggle!!

Just before Rye got to "give the full beans" out the back of Ashford (NSL x 2 +!) and along Military Road - (still an amazing section of road even after all these runs)plus the bit between the 2070 and Military Road has some wicked bumps - keeps you buzzing! Lost the RS from group one at Rye due to a leak though...shame!

Re-formed group then set off through the "Camber-ring". Love that piece of road! Great fun. Much more gravel around than I remember previously...made it interesting...Lucky we met the Police car where we did...Notable performance from the Maximum Jed MX5 despite a broken steering wheel!!

Then the nice cross country blast to Tenterden where we met up with the big red Ultima Spyder. Awesome!!

Got complete air off a bridge rise a couple of miles further out ...that tarmac rally feel again..

Great flat blasts along the Hawkhurst stretch...Body eventually instructed me that my bladder was now full, so run up through Goudhurst, quick diversion up and down the Lamberhurst by-pass (a great new piece of road) and then put in a petrol/pee stop at BlackBoys BP @ Pembury.

Good banter amongst all. Ultima man (sorry, didnt get your name) was doing 6mpg and needed more fuel despite only joining at Tenterden and most of the rest of us refreshed ourselves according to need (this service station has a M&S shop, loo's and a big car park, so worth remembering for future runs!!). Got treated to a fly-by by the local chapter of the TVR club. Slightly worried when local plod cruised in, but he was only after pies!!!

From there a nice A26/Seven Mile Lane (love that compression half way along, like a roller-coaster) run up to the M'ways and through the tunnel.

We'd put in an extra stop and cruised the motorway section, but still got to Dunton 9:30ish...just in time to see Harsh spinning the Atom's wheels up on his way out of the carpark onto the track!

Great Full Monty breakfast bap, good crowd, and spectacular noises. Mmm, Lambo's!

Thanks to Jay for getting us all up so early, Harsh and Co for the end event and to FOS216 (love that LY RS200), Black Car, JSS, Ash, Max Jed, Fatboy, Inf, Ginger Wiz, ST150Andy(?), Neil J (RSF) and the Ultima {plus a couple of the others who I didn't get to speak to (sorry to those I've missed)} for the drive. Good work!

Roll on the next one!!
