Did anyone get directed to a dedicated pistonheads area? I got there for 9.50am thinking I would beat the queue to get in but there was already a line of cars waiting to get in, not that it took that long to get in. Getting out was a different matter though.

I had the pistonheads pass ready but I just got directed to park in the gravel car park because all the tarmac spaces were taken. If it wasn’t for the banners on display I wouldn’t have known it was pistonheads related. Still it was good morning out. The pair of gt3 RS’s were highlight of the show alongside the gorgeous r34 GTR.
Yeah I showed it and got waved on. I had no idea what was PH and what wasn’t which was a shame but not end of the world.

Apart from the eBay thing, the event looked exactly the same as a non-ph meet there I went to a while back.

Same, we arrived at about 10:30ish and there seemed to be no PH presence at all really, just a carpark and field full of cars. Some nice cars and the Motorist seems like a nice place to visit, but I'm not sure this was as good as it could have been.

Other than the eBay thing and the PH banners it was normal motorist cars and coffee. I have the PH thing printed but other than directing myself into parking out front there wasn't any organisation. Was going to say hi to Ben but he was being mobbed by Northerners ??

I had to take my Mrs and Daughter up to Silverdale. She doesn’t like driving!

Biscuits is a tough one. Not sure which packet to crack open first. They were in the car ready. Safe inside now wink

I wasn't expecting it to be much busier than a normal cars and coffee Sunday but today was mental. Such a huge turn out. Some great cars, and a good day out as usual. Leaving was carnage but what you going to do.

Yes, we thoroughly enjoyed it. Well, I enjoyed the cars while my OH enjoyed Whippy ice cream and breakfast at the restaurant.

Fantastic turn out and some wonderful variety of cars to see.

ETA: there were three T350s on the list but I didn't see any. I still had a 100A fuse and some bits and pieces from my old days which I was hoping to give away to an owner. I did see a Tamora but the owner was not interested in having it.

I reckon it was as big as the Collecting Cars meet earlier in the year, the queue backing all the way up to the main road was a surprise!

Shame there wasn't a bigger PH presence though

Huge amount of visitors over an above members who committed via signup. I guess that shows how many people read but don’t contribute.

Given the scale it’s not a shock that people felt like there wasn’t much Pistonheads presence but then I’m not sure how many actual pistonheads staff there are, I can’t imagine it’s more than a handful.

An actual Pistonheads gazebo and table would be great if there are enough staff to manage it but for me it’s more about speaking to fellow members than staff. I enjoyed the visit, wish I could have stayed longer and chatted to more people about their cars and bikes.

Thanks to the team in particular Ben who I believe I handed my biscuits to. I’m not sure of the facial reaction when I handed I’ve true biscuits but it is good to put faces to usernames rofl

Perhaps before the PH25 it would be good to have a deal in place for a branded, customers tee or polo with usernames.

My only annoyance was the few people revving engines, wheel spinning in the queues to exit and “leaving like an ass”, we have one northern event, the venue is brilliant and I’d hate not to be invited back because people couldn’t follow the simple, clear rules presented on site.

Really enjoyed this, a wide variety of hardware. I did hear some revving but the majority were well behaved.

The motorist is a great venue - I did wonder how many arriving at 12-1pm were for “PH” or their normal Sunday attendance.

Thanks to all involved for putting this together - hopefully it shows the hunger for northern meets is strong and we have more northern gatherings in the future.

I'm not really sure why people get upset about some engine revs. It's a car meet for car enthusiats, hearing some great engines is part of it. That hummer sounded nuts hehe

I think it’s the fear of upsetting the surrounding businesses. If they complain then it could affect the future of the meets. But yes the hummer did sound crazy especially when he was revving against the GT 3 RS as they were leaving.

I did wonder if the M3s that were revving their cold engines had thought it through!

It is considered antisocial behaviour by many though, which is the kind of thing that gets these events st down. Especially when some start racing on the way out. Can quickly get quite dangerous as there are always some that take things too far.

I doubt it’ll be shut down for a bit of harmless fun.

The biker pub to the West manages to have racing and revving and all manner of daft behaviour on the surrounding roads, in amongst the majority good, for decades.

Plenty of KSI “associated” with it. The venue remains.

Plus it’s on an airfield industrial area, with aircraft taking off all the time, plus general industrial noise and activity.

Until it’s making life an utter misery for local people, it’ll be fine. The way to avoid that is to not entertain or appeal to the F&F crowd.

Maybe, but the venue specifically requested no loud music, no revving and no antisocial driving, so like it or not they may not be keen to allow future events to take place if the rules are broken.

There are many events that are spoiled by people showing off, YouTube is full of the stuff, and there are plenty of incidents whereby showing off has led to accidents. Just the other day there was a video doing the rounds of someone spinning a Skoda Fabia (somehow??!) and hitting crowds causing injuries. It doesn't take much for the few to mess it up for the many.

Now if PH had organised something that including hearing some engines revving with agreement of the venue, then that would be great.

It was a shame that it wasn't more evident where the PH section was; there was nobody there when we arrived so we moved the barriers and parked in the spaces alongside Arnage.

The queue to get in was typical of what I've heard of The Motorist on weekends now, I don't think it was specifically due to the PH meet. As it wasn't an exclusive meet, half the people there probably had no idea there was a PH meet and had just decided to go for a trip there themselves.

The issue at The Motorist is the logistics of getting in and out which isn't especially easy to solve unfortunately. The anti-social behaviour certainly won't have been a specific request of the PH meet but the residents along the entrance road will be sick of people driving like dicks down that road for years so will have little patience left, understandably.

The Motorist will sadly have to educate some of its customers like C&M has had to & they've adopted the "Don't be a dick" motto to encourage their customers to be respectful of the locals & others on the roads leading to their location
