I thought it was 1/2 meter at a 45 degree angle?

Despite having a very nice ar5e the girl who did the sound metre the last time didnt really have a clue what she was doing (hence 2 360CS being allowed to run).

The noise meter they were using looked like something out of the war as well.

Well lets hope shes there again this time

I've just come back from my holidays and after reading this lot it looks like I'm out. I'm road legal but racing cats and straight pipes put me well over the noise limit.

I could always just drive round Bruntingthrope village for a day as it's too loud for the circuit surrounded by trees away from houses but not for the public highway !

You could hold a "too loud for Vmax meet"...

NOISE LIMITS for the daye are:

driveby 87.5 db, 97.5 db static at 4000rpm or 50% of max revs, this is taken at 1/2 metre from the exhaust.

I dont think even with DB killers I would be able to make this one, I would have to get a check done.

Oh well, Looks like the Pub talk PDR479 and myself had about hiring out woodbridge may have to be tried. Airfield with no noise restictions, the one the Viper got 215mph at.

Hi

Hmmm..Woodbridge can be hired ??
Do you have a contact or any details please ?

To be honest ...with those noise restrictions....I hardly think Bruntingthorpe can even be called a VMAX event any more...

All the best Brett

I've e-mailed RAF St Athan in south wales about putting one on cause they've done a couple of similar things in the past.

According to Noise Action Week 98db is somewhere between a food processor and an exercise class.

Or alternatively 98db is the previous world record for snoring...

I am definitaly in for a VMAX with sensible noise limits, if one is being organised.

My car is 106dB at 4000rpm, which is just about right for a red-blooded sports car.
