Necessary? No, it wasn't.
Personally I thought they were great pics. Love a bit of automotive detail.
Thanks for positive feedback re the pics, I appreciate not everyone would like them however as I had lots of pics that were very similar to images already posted I would share something slightly different.Personally I thought they were great pics. Love a bit of automotive detail.

I really, really wish I could do that...
Oh it's easy. I think Skaffen's attempt was slightly better than mine, but I don't have a time machine.
As the background was out of focus and had reasonable uniformity, there were enough sources of elements to rebuild the section in question - so not too hard, just a bit fiddly! Aftershot Pro has a limit of 11 clone regions, alas, so not enough to quite cover the whole area but a bit of manual work with a clone brush to fill in the middle, some more manual retouching just to mess with the region clones so it wasn't so obvious they were cloned (this was the bit where I could spend a bit more time and get a better result), and sorted. If there were e.g. a car in the background partially obscured by the chap and so needing reconstructing I just wouldn't have even attempted it .

That's impressive...I was going to have a proper go using Photoshop 6 (doing it manually) but I guessed someone would beat me to it, hence the quick job in 'Paint. I don't think there's too much in it though between yours and mine. My OH once spent an entire afternoon manualy removing some white railings from the background of an otherwise nice picture of us both, so the Pro version seems a much more efficient tool. (Unlike me, I'm just a lazy tool ).As the background was out of focus and had reasonable uniformity, there were enough sources of elements to rebuild the section in question - so not too hard, just a bit fiddly! Whatever you have done I am very impressed indeed - many thanks for the pic and for your editing. As the background was out of focus and had reasonable uniformity, there were enough sources of elements to rebuild the section in question - so not too hard, just a bit fiddly! Hope you don't mind but I have used it for my garage profile pic.
My favourite pic taken so far of my car ever
I don't suppose a full resolution pic emailed to me would be out of the question would it?

Blimey, I use Photoshop CS3Ext. Have tried so many times, but I just end up with shocking results and it really seems to wear down my usually tough patience, no matter how many times I try over and over and over.
