speedtwelve is that an original sport?? i noticed you have a rear wiper!!??
The Sport came with a rear wiper as standard, the CS Didnt. The wiper must have been spec'ed by the first owner but even though it gets driven in all weathers I hardly use it. There's no intermittent wipe on the rear so it's not all that useful.

These are the rules - see "General" section on page three. The Fiat was overtaking on the left, which is a no no.
The rules are there to keep all safe and make sure all are having fun so stop having a go at the guy who was sticking to those very specific regulations.
Er...we were briefed to overtake on the left! I did all of my overtaking on the left as did everyone else I was out with. These are the rules - see "General" section on page three. The Fiat was overtaking on the left, which is a no no.

Overtaking:
1. Use your mirrors regularly but only on the straights. Do not spend the whole lap
looking in your mirrors
2. Overtake only on the left hand side
3. Overtake only on the straights
4. Do not overtake in the corners or final part of the braking areas
5. If you are being caught by faster traffic move over to the right and let the vehicle/s
pass on the left.
6. Slower drivers MUST never move off line in a corner. Remember no overtaking is
to happen in the corners hence moving off line will compromise both yourself and
the following cars. Wait until the exit and then move over.
7. Slower drivers please do not hinder faster cars and put your foot down on the
straights and this can lead to frustration and the potential for accidents is increased

My point still stands about giving the guy a hard time though!

It did seem a little crowded on the track at some points, but guys I was over this before I even got out of my car. It was all good fun! Also I wish I was a better driver/ had a faster car as the focus RS and b5 S4 went flying past me

I got stuck behind a few slower cars but it's to be expected on these first timers day. Enjoy it for what it is and thats a good day out, in the scheme of things its not really that important.

There was no hogging. My issue was with point 2, point 5, point 6 and especially 7. I was merely driving over the lap much quicker and at the point of the photo trying to overtake the Fiat. Yes he was quicker on the straights but that meant I had to hammer on the brakes in each braking zone and crawl around each bend at snail pace. It would have been better for both of us if it was made easier for me to pass so I could crack on and not be up his trumpet continuously and waving my hand lol. I did eventually get by and then lapped round to being behind him again, of which he correctly let me pass on the straight.

I know the driver of the 599 ( or as you insist calling it Fiat) and it was his first track day and to be honest he was a bit nervous. I've no doubt he was in the wrong on the day but to be honest as muted before it was a first timers track day and there were a few mobile chicanes out on track. The traffic situation over all was a lot better than I expected to be honest as I believe a couple of times slots were put together. It did seem a little crowded on the track at some points, but guys I was over this before I even got out of my car. On the track days I've been on previously (MLR organised) there are some traffic issues right at the start of the day, but then the open pit lane format thins things out pretty quickly. There is no pressure and newbies clearly have the rookie sticker on them which would avoid situations such as the one we have been debating above!
In fairness to the 599 owner....might not have been the easiest car / situation to lose the track virginity!!

Another great day out PH, thanks to all who organised and to Silverstone for hosting!
I couldn’t resist posting this gratuitous pic (cheers englishhaggis) and enjoyed chatting to the two GT3 owners… one day maybe!

Just goes to show that BHP really isn't everything.
Dave Randall in his 1500cc Ginetta G4 has done a 1m 8.4s lap of the National circuit on road legal tyres!!
Have a look at the Road Sports Tab

Dave Randall is a great driver and his Ginetta very sorted (ex-HSCC roadsports champion), thats mighty impressive times he set, and only beaten in that race by an AC cobra!Just goes to show that BHP really isn't everything.
