I like the jet idea to give a little push start as you go round the bottom bend

Not bad, not bad. A little push from behind as you hit the main straight could make a big difference to terminal velocities. But god knows what it would do to your paint and I have visions of VXRs and TVRs taking off...

Could be handy for burgers cooked on a damned long spit too!

However 'tis true that this is no laughing matter. The capacity of people to buy a house with an existing "annoying" feature and then start bitching about it completely bewilders me. It was already there you pillocks - nothing has changed!!!!

I am well and truly sick and tired of the minority dictating what is right and what is wrong these days.

...you..have summed it up nicely.

Indeed, the country is now being run for the satisfaction of minority viewpoints. Unfortunately being an anti has now become a hobby for people and banning things is their one and only aim.

Quite so.

We are governed by damp tweed, to para-borrow from the original plotloss.

We do need a coup and f@cking quicksticks.

If anyone from MI6 is reading, have a word with your chums in the military top brass because I assure you there is an apetite for a genteel overthrow of the yobboista farting about the carpeted corridors Whitehall.

At 19th holes the length and breadth of Alby, the political correction currently exterminating freedom, common sense and real justice is being rejected with fiery extremism.

I'm not making this up, everyone is dusting down their pistolae.

I have visions of Der and his army of staff all dressed in camo gear, with the latest spy and stealth gadgets, ready to overthrow the government.

They'd also have the most rapid attack vehicles, German of course, with "Schnell, ye gods, Schnell!" written above a little coats of Deristrictor arms hehe down the sides...

Thinking about it, where do I sign up

At your service, De Regiment Sargeant Major Restrictor!!!

You know, the concept of local, part time politics is not so outlandish: putting oneself forward as an independent, in true, Trojan stylee, thence to unleash ze firestorm of uberschnellic conformity against which all opponents will be retrained by piano wire does, it must be said, have a certain, petroleum sozzled appeal.

The current zeitgeist of bogus climate claptrap being used as a bulwark against man's transportational furtherment (and in conspiracy by the socialist governments across Europe as carte blance excuse to tax us away, only for the Asian sub continent and China to take over) is something - like the 'speed kills' bullsh1t itself - to be opposed in the most vocal, vehemnt terms.

Just because John 'card carrying' Humphries and the rest of the coup d'etat, leftist media sheepfolk suggest something, don't make it so...

The dogs.

I spoke with Matt (the son of the owner of Brunters) at length about the problem. It boils down to the $odding NIMBY's who live around bruntingthorpe. They are liars and hugely exaggerate the noise problem (of which there is little). For instance one time they said on a certain saturday there was totally unacceptable noise from the airfield- racing cars or what not. Matts father keeps a record of everyone and everything that drives on the strip, and his records showed the only machinery on the runway were HGV's....

It boils the pi$$ somewhat eh?

But Matt and his dad are fighting tooth and nail

And theres always a place for a Pher in munich

Surely this ought to stop anye arguement in its track? In any court of law, if you were proven to be lying whilst trying to have some fabricated conviction enforced it would be thrown out instantly.

Why is it the councils seem prepared to spend time giving Bruntingthorpe grief but they wont simply send someone down to NIMBY's house with a noisemeter when Brunteringthorpe are running a trackday - this would prove that the noise is not excessive, I dont see how it could be given the proximity of the nearest houses.

Except I think it's councils who have a major say...and since when did a council bother with facts?!?

Hi
I posted about this on another thread.
My understanding is that Brunters is a Proving ground not a track & the noise limits dont apply. This will indeed mean an end to track days but not Topspeed proving which is whay I use it for. I only drive at Speed down the main straight & drive very slowly around the rest of the track. Ive not read all this Topic but thats what ive heard.

UNfortunately due to the whole democracy thing the NIMBYS elect the councillors, the councillors pander to the NIMBYS. the NIMBYS tend to have the time and perseverance to attend council meetings etc etc

If action is underway, then with hindsight it may be a good idea for Daz to prune the thread a bit to remove it? You never know who's reading; especially if people have got a bee in their bonnet, and it's always better not to show your hand to the opposition.

I do some work for DDD (www.driversdreamdays.co.uk) and they have confirmed some dates for the next few months. This includes Si's Tubi'd Murci. I believe there is still some doubt whether they'll be allowed - waiting for court case appeal.

Local Councils.

Has anyone actually paid attention to the calibre of council members lately. Our local council is made up by 50% of people on incapacity benefit who are on the council because they have noting better to do and its a free handout, they have no relevant business experience.
Its fair to say none of them have any idea what
so ever on the track day ethos, and as such dont give a toss.

Another perfect example of people with no experience of what they are advising on making decisions of behalf of the majority. That I'm afraid goes all the way up from local govt to the Tony tosser at the top who has never held a full time job in his life.

As someone has already suggested, its about time the whole govt situation was dumped lock stock and barrell and started again.

ibroker - particularly pertinent to my thoughts yesterday.

Local radio news included a report that government is to trial - following representations from 'No Outsiders' - a pro-homosexual lobbying quango - 'modified characterisation' of fairy stories during infant school classes.

The idea being to ingratiate the young 'uns with ideally, I presume, unflinching, unquestioned reception of tales of Jack & Jim, etc, etc...

I do believe that many areas of UK policy are and have for some time been determined by fear of incurring the wrath of vociferous minority interest groups, via the quango system, whose disproportionately weighty influence by an all-too willing rump of sympathetic apologist communists in the media has broadly resulted in 'where we are.'

'Equality' facists, as it were who are some of the nastiest, aggressive little sh1ts in the political firmament: invariably a loose association of militant no marks who like the venerable Roy Hattersley, are simply 'ban it junkies.' Banning = control, control = power and power = the satisfaction of their pontless existences.

The insect behind VMax's downfall is one such inadequte penarse. Abysmal. mad

in total agreement with you.

oh, and what deep joy, the local election ballot papers have just dropped through our letter box.
