I really enjoyed it, thanks for putting on a show further north. Nice to meet people (and hand over biscuits…)

The level of traffic and queueing was ok for the sheer numbers of people turning up I thought. Nice to see the Motorist organising the entering/leaving traffic in an orderly fashion.

I selflessly checked out the NY500 for you for next time yesterday…. Logistics might be challenging for people turning from Pickering, but their car boot field should fit you in!

I doubt it’ll be shut down for a bit of harmless fun...
Maybe, but the venue specifically requested no loud music, no revving and no antisocial driving, so like it or not they may not be keen to allow future events to take place if the rules are broken.

There are many events that are spoiled by people showing off, YouTube is full of the stuff, and there are plenty of incidents whereby showing off has led to accidents. Just the other day there was a video doing the rounds of someone spinning a Skoda Fabia (somehow??!) and hitting crowds causing injuries. It doesn't take much for the few to mess it up for the many.

Now if PH had organised something that including hearing some engines revving with agreement of the venue, then that would be great.
I get what you’re saying and broadly agree.

I’m surprised a venue like this holds events but says no revving though. That’s a bit of a depressing state of affairs.

Funnily enough my Rightmove map flagged a big house down there just the other day. Seemingly great value till I looked where it was.

Why resi units on industrial sites complain about noise is beyond me.

It’s like those moving next to race tracks then asking them to keep the noise down.

It doesn’t sound like the best venue for this kind of event, all considered?
Revving, no?
Delineation between events/normal visitors, no?

The development at the back of The Motorist is new - Circa last 2/3 Years.
The new warehousing at the top of the pic has gone up over the last 20 roughly, there was an industrial estate that utilised the old airfield buildings which only encroached to the end of the runway in pic.

https://www.abct.org.uk/airfields/airfield-finder/... Mainly all white roofed buildings are new, bulk of that was arable land.

Shame there wasn't a bigger PH presence though
As per my post on the first page and in the email sent out to everyone we were basing ourselves in the eBay genius bar for the event – apologies if you didn't manage to find us though! Our events gazebo and merchandise has had a bit of a hiatus from Sunday Services but will be back soon thumbup

I'm not really sure why people get upset about some engine revs. It's a car meet for car enthusiats, hearing some great engines is part of it. That hummer sounded nuts hehe
Did anyone get any videos of the HUMMER & GT3 RS leaving?
If so please could you send them 🙏 or find us on Instagram standout_motors
Thank you

Did I miss it or does our “northern” Sunday Service not deserve a review story on the homepage? frown

It was a great day thanks Pistonheads! I was in the grey 997 (BBS CH-R wheels) and really enjoyed the range of lovely cars. I was particularly drawn to the track prepped e36 compact and the 2002 but would have quite happily driven home in most cars there. It did get me looking at JDM cars again too, I’ve not had one since Impreza/evo/s14 of my earlier driving days. Thanks again and hope to see you again soon
