What time are people starting to arrive at this event? im guessing needs to be around 7:30 to get ahead of the long wait..
This is what puts me off these days. I would be coming in a 1933 open car so not keen on leaving home at 6:30am to sit around for 90 mins until the gates open. I wonder if it's outgrown itself? RichB said:

Brooklands is the destination & spiritual home of brave men & women with determination, stamina & true British spirit who uphold the best of motoring standards & tradition by driving many many miles in all weathers to attend various events. Their mode of transport may well date from the days of being preceded by a man with a red flag, no heaters or even a windscreen & more often than not with no roof at all. These REAL men & women are not too lazy to get up early & make the effort is support a museum that celebrates their kind & the vehicles they drove & continue to drive. Moreover Brooklands could not function without the volunteers who at their own expense help run the events - why they may even have to get up at 6.30am to get there.Brooklands will never outgrow itself because it has always attracted the right crowd with no crowding, meaning that many who cannot be bothered or not prepared to put their hands in their pockets are thankfully filtered out.
If you want to witness an event that HAS got too big for itself & attracts too many of the wrong sort try the Goodwood Breakfast Club.

Totally agree, this is where it all started. Am also a member. Give the guy a break though, he was only saying Brooklands will never outgrow itself because it has always attracted the right crowd with no crowding, meaning that many who cannot be bothered or not prepared to put their hands in their pockets are thankfully filtered out.
