If you live in or around Wycombe, you may know that the Wye is the river that runneth through it (hence the name, 'Wye Combe').

You may also be interested to know that this has nothing to do with the location of the pub I have chosen for the meet, and everything to do with the fact that it rhymed with pie.

Anyway, in short, it's a Wycombe pub meet.

You are invited to gather at:

The Old Queen's Head, Hammersley Lane, HP10 8EY (try www.streetmap.co.uk for the exact location)

on Sunday 23rd March at midday

Absolutely all PHers will be welcome. Sorry to bluesatin that it wasn't at The White Horse, but I discovered that the exotic dancers only work weekdays

All the best,
Domster

Where's Sgirl? She was keen on a meet, although she did want to go to a pub with morris dancers... Can't please 'em all, eh?

Mon Ami Mate said: Just had a thought (remarkable!). A few years ago it was possible to hire the mainstrip at Bovingdon airfield for "run what yer brung" sessions. Anybody know if this is still possible? Assuming it is, it could make for a greatly enhanced day out!

Where is Bovingdon? Find some details if you can, and it could be the basis of a Summer event.

(This event is just planned as a pub meet... we really need a whole day on an airfield to do it justice and cover the cost etc.)

Yeah, come along

What are you replacing the Westie with?

Cheers

PS Thanks for the Bovingdon tip off to Mon Ami Mate... close enough to check out. Will delve deeper when I have a mo.

RiverGirrl said: Greetings, All...the weather promises to be good I will get the SunDance going to be sure Has anyone called the pub to warn them about the PH onslaught?? And is the car park big enough??
See y'all there!!

The car park is plenty big enough, although the good weather may make it much busier than I was expecting.

On previous car meets there with the Caterham Seven lot, no one went inside for beer or pies, just chatted, but this isn't PH stylee so I will ring and warn them.

Cheers

Graham.J said: Hi mmmmdonuts, nope sadly the westi isn't on the road at the moment, I've got to work out how to get the steering column out so I can get my quick release boss welded on, then I can get the new harness eye welded on, the finish fitting the roll bar and try and work out what I'm going to do about insurance for the occasional PH/WSCC meet.

Oh and I can't fit the wheelchair in the westi

(I use a wheelchair to get about a the meets because I can't walk about for very long without getting tired and dizzy)

Just to warn you that the car park is gravel, so hope this doesn't cause wheelchair problems. Daz and I may have to carry you unless you have General Grabbers fitted

I have chosen the pub for its distance from badger setts and hedgerows

Believe me, Daz could lift most people

All attendees:

I have informed the pub of our plans, and they are expecting a busy day, so...

1) please get there at 12 or soon after if you want to eat - or ring the Old Queen's Head and book

2) please park considerately, ie as close to neighbouring cars as possible, as their Sundays are busy enough and the car park fills up quite swiftly

See you there

I dunno. At least 2 or 3pm. Good to see you there.

Plenty of velvet rope has been ordered for the Stigmeister and Blue Thunder

Many thanks to the sun for shining, RG for doing the sundance, you lovely PH people for turning up and the pub for not turfing us out when we took over their car park

Oh, and good pics everyone! Did anyone get a video of Daz trying to fit into Scottster's sports seats?

Great to meet a few new PHers and catch up with the old ones. Top day
