I don't think I can make it
Discussion
When I booked my ticket etc, I had a fabby new contract paying me shite loads of money about to start.
It fell through And I'm really struggling to get a new one
Seeing as Paul and I have taken the decision to postpone our wedding to next year as a result of this (and my new car!!! ), I think it is right that I don't waste money I don't have on coming to PF and certainly not in the manner I was going (RV)!
If the work situation changes, I'll be there if I can be, but in a tent.

Borrow a tent from your local scouts (£20)
Scran beer/alcoholic beverages from other PHers (£free)
Get a lift from other PHers (£free)
Have the time of your life (£priceless)

I would offer the '3rd man' space in our tent, but....
1. You'd probably be unsafe
2. You'd probably not cope with the atmosphere within the tent
3. Your other half would probably not be too keen
4. Neither would ours

Are you sure you cannot go? Its a once a year thing... priorities ali
As it stands at the moment, no.
Priorities have to be new car and wedding, lifetime things
However, I am not giving up my ticket, and may be able to afford to get there and back with a tent nearer the time if I get a job soon, but as it stands at the moment, I can't afford to go, and certainly not stay in the RV as planned

I was looking forward to finally meeting you....bring some red wine. I need a drinking partner
If you need a lift I am going there on friday
If you need a lift I am going there on friday
Me too.
The main problem is paying for my share of the RV now, Nigel's offer is exceedingly kind, but I would not feel right about that.
That would be about 250 miles out of your way, but far more comfortable in your new car!!

Ali,
What's the main problem? if you've already paid for your ticket, then the rest of the weekend should be fairly cheap.
There are plenty of offers for a tent, we (along with many others) have plenty of sherberts for you to take advantage of, and if you're nice, I'll even cook you a bacon sarnie in the morning
I guess your main problem is going to be getting there?
I'm sure someone can catch you a ride?
All you need to bring are baby wipes, clothes, and some sandwiches/pot noodles?
These events are full of generous people, and there's no need to feel like 'you're putting people out' because from my experience of festivals, people are only too keen to get others involved

The problem is that I was going te 'posh' way, in Nigel's RV and now cannot afford to.
Cash for petrol, sherberts, food etc can possibly be sourced from my fiance (if i beg) if I'm still not working by then....
Which just leaves a tent, which has been offered, o accepting Nigel's offer of the RV for Red wine
WHich means, it looks like, I'll be there, one way or another
I love you guys!!
(yes, I'm sober!!)

No seriously, bring a couple of bottles as payment, would be a shame for you to miss it, and I will need at least one adult to talk to!
Thank you, But that is not fair on the others!!
They are all paying me in liquid form as well
Oh, well in that case.......
I'll have to nick some of the wine we bought for the wedding then

The generosity of PH'ers never fails to impress,
Ditto!!

It will be a shame for you to miss out Ali, we all hope your circumstances change and we will see you there.
As for the bacon sarnie offer, that will still stand
Must admit, after having the option on an RV initially, a tent doesn't sound too appealing!

I have an interview this afternoon!! Not as much money, but closer to home, fingers crossed!!
I'll bring the bacon
I can rough it, but at my age, prefer not too
