Thinking of moving it forward for a better chance of some sun this year, possibly early/mid August.
Will get a tide table and find a good day when the tide is nice and low so if anyones interested perhaps a game of cricket/footie on the huge sand bar that pokes out in to the Solent.
Will do the Pitch and Putt Tournament again if Ted agrees to donate a prize this year too - only 2 rules this time:-
1. Jarcy has a 15 handicap (his son (what 8 now?) will carry 10)
2. Bob The Planner has to go around on his own, after everyone else to avoid any potential fatalities.

Have considered talking to the local campsite if anyone wants to make a weekend of it, they are used to loads of cars as they used to host one of Europes largest customer car shows until the local bunny loving, tree hugging, lentil munching council refused planning permission.

Also how about a merge with a Surrey Run, Hants TVRCC, Dorset TVRCC - Don/Bob are you happy to lead convoys?

As I said - early thoughts lets have yours.

Don,
You could do worse than taking in the A272 for a bit some excellent stretchs along there.
Head down towards Chichester, then along the old A27 through Emswoth.
Just a thought.

OK Guys, here we go.
Sunday August 10th seems the best bet, same format as last year, meet at the Ship Inn (nice to get the landlord going again ) trundle off down to the beach for the now obligatory golf, with prizes, I already have agreement from Ted.
Earlier than last year so the weather should be a bit better, tide will be right out at 16:13 so plenty of time to muck about on the not insubstantial sand bank.
Also the fun-fair should have a new high drop ride installed by then.
Sound like a plan?

I'll get Ted to drop something in the calendar.

Bob and Don have already agreed (dates being OK) to bring their respective gangs, all we need is someone to bring on down the Surrey gang - Jeremy, Steve?

Don,
Early thoughts of a route for you guys, taking in some of my favourite jaunts.
Boringstoke -> Alton
Alton -> West Meon Hut (A32)
WMH -> Petersfield (A272 )
P'Field -> South Harting (B2146)
SH -> Westbourne (B2146/B2147)
Westbourne -> Emsworth (Under A27 - big booming underpass )
Emsworth -> Havant (A259/A27)
Havant -> Hayling (A3023)

Just an idea.

Mrs. CZ it did rather cofuse me while leading the convoy down the Island last year how a primula got in the queue, considering Don (I think) held up all the traffic to let us get out the car park.

I checked the dates in Sprint they have Mania listed as 'Provisionally' on the 9th.

Trouble is, as I said earlier, so much goes on at this time of year. Tell you what I'll drop a note to Tony Conner see if he'll move it.

Top run down Don, sounds about spot on.
'Extra' events include mucking about on the sandbank which show be at it's fullest mid to late afternoon.

RiverGirrl you would be welcome in/on any vehicle, if I remeber correctly, last year UltimaPaul made his wife bring the VW Golf with the kids in so he could come along in the Ultima respect Paul, I for one, would never have got away with that!

I know this clashes with Somerset Saunter Won and possibly Mania, but as Don said it is open to more than just the TVR gang and I for one am really looking forward to it.
At one point lat year we had something like 35 cars there (rough calculation at 1.2 million pounds worth) would love to match that this year.

Well there is a pub further down the island with a big car park with a field extension on it, I could ask if they mind us meeting there before leaving (might have to buy a few drinks to keep the landlord happy though as this is not a public carpark).
The thing is, it's only about a mile and a half from the beach. Although that wouldn't be too bad if you've just done a long ride.
What say you?

Don,
Let me know when you have finalised the route, I'll see if I can think of any pubs that might accomodate us on the mainland.

Well folks, this morning the postman came struggling up the drive with a huge parcel, positively brimming with goodies from the Piemiester himself as prizes for the 2nd Hayling Pitch & Putt Open.
I will refrain from detailing the list right now but suffice to say there is a fair few quid's worth up for grabs.

Get signed up, we're up for a good one!

Hi Richard, Don is sorting out a route from Basingstoke to Hayling Island. I suspect that as you know the Seven Stars (Langrish way?) you are local to Petersfield, I imagine Don's route would come near you and you could pick up the tail end of the convoy.
Watch this space for Don's weblink coming soon.

So what's the latest .Mark?
Date, venue, time.

Hello Al, I need to contact Don. He is organising the route down from Basingstoke to Hayling as per last year all the others that don't come that way will meet at our rendezvous and travel to the beach together.
I believe Don was doing a test run last weekend after which he will put up a web page to tell all.
Will mail him today or tomorrow - apologies, I've been a bit busy at work this week
