A45-A425 route ?

Hi all, In order to make the drive more interesting I'm thinking of comming off the A14 at Thrapston and taking the A45 to Northampton, Daventry and then The A425 to Warwick.

Does anyone know the route? Is it a bad choice or is their a better one. The only other option is down to the M25-M40 (
