They have a nice setup and should be able to do anything you need
Thanks, will give them a call! Very good websiteI had my Mini engine done here

I called rob, he asked me what the problem was, I said darton and he cut me off and said he couldn't do it. Didn't even discuss what the problem was. He then asked what car and I said Porsche and he said he didn't work on Porsche! Yet his site lists Porsche work. Very odd. Went on to say how busy he was etc..

Why do you think you need to machine the liners?
The mezger flat 6 has the centre liner installed over the piston. It's fully floating with o-rings. So you can't fit and deck like conventional blocks.I need the marks removed from the top face to seal the gasket.
I've had no luck, so had to buy some LA Liners now.
I've called a fair few people now and no one wants to know, I don't think darton have a good reputation going by the feedback, very frustrating.

Oh fer gord's sake min. Them little itty bitty scratches ye can barely see wi'oot a magnifying glass? They don't even go all the way into the piston bore. Rub them oot wi' a bit of wet and dry paper and stop yer greetin. Flat surface, a sheet of 180 grit, glued down if necessary to stop it moving, bit of paraffin for lubricant, 5 minute job.
I did consider that! But I'm using 12mm head studs so the gaskets have to be cut and are expensive.
It needs special assembly and timing tools which i don't have so have to pay someone to assemble.
I'm running 800hp but capable of 1000 on my turbo selection.
Even dropping the engine is more than a new set of liners. One is really deep too.
If it was my Westy with this problem id happily do the above!

There is way to much info missing from your initial post, why don't you put the full story in there instead of playing forum games? It's like playing hangman or fecking Cluedo.
Who damaged the liners?
If you reface them they will be shorter, is it not the case that they will then not fit?
Steady on old chap! I only asked for recommendations from a machine shop to carry out a task. To be honest it's just a last ditch effort to recover what had been a lost cause so far.Who damaged the liners?

I got one, it didn't work out, so i feel all the better for trying.
I bought them from the states and after much grief have been unable to get a replacement.
Much to my disappointment and annoyance, I have now purchased replacements so I guess it's case closed.
Sorry to bother you all, as you were.
