Been having a bit of trouble with the car. From time to time it will just stall, either that or misfire and pogo down the road for a while. I have had it in at a VW specialist and when put on the diagnostics it comes up with an intermitent fault with the lambda sensor. I have just had the lambda sensor replaced and it is still doing it. Today the garage are looking at the wires between the lambda sensor and the engine management system. Anyone got any other ideas? All help appreciated.

deltaf, you may have a poiunt there, I used to have an induction kit on it and from time to time it would play up and make the engine stall. I found that if I twisted the induction kit slightly I could make the engine stall on demand. If there was a split in that pipe it would explain this aswell. The problems currently useually occur on start up, when I put my foot down and when the revs have been high and then drop fairly quickly, for instance when I have been pressing on and then stop at a junction. Anyway as I said earlier all help appreciated.

Think the cars sorted now. Turned out it was a wire that went to the air flow meter, the rubber sleve had a slight split in it and it would appear that some water had got in and shorted a couple of the wires. So the repair was free, trouble was its cost me £450 to sort it.
