Moly grease for flat tappet cam break-in?

I'm having trouble obtaining moly paste. However, I have a big 500g tub of moly grease in the garage. It's dark grey in colour and is lithium and moly based. Could I safely use this on my cam lobes and lifter faces? Is this basically the same stuff as 'cam lube'?

Yea, I'm familiar with all the common lubes (Torco, Piper, Kent, ARP, Redline, etc, etc). However, I want to know if using moly grease in a lithium-based carrier will do the same thing. The moly is the key as it's an EP lube. Moly grease is dark grey, so must have a relatively high concentration of molybdenum disulphide in it. Just wondering if anyone has actually used it for cam break-in, or is knowledgable enough on materials and chemistry to advise.

I'd avoid using the moly grease if I were you, we used to use it at Cosworth on the F1 builds and it does a great job of protecting cam lobes on start up etc but all teh moly drops out into the oil and you end up with big lumps of the stuff collected around the engine , ideal for clogging samll squirt jets etc.

I'd stick to either proper cam lube or EP90 gear oil

Thanks Matt. Out of interest, were you using plain old moly GREASE (ie. the lithium/moly stuff that you get in big tubs as opposed to small tubes? I believe it's normally used for CV joints, etc)?
