I was looking at the V12 Vantage, hence the name but good ones with a stick a hard to find. The V8 looks a bit understated to me. Thought this is a great alternative and saves me a lot compared to the V12.

Also when did the Auto Shift become standard? i.e. similar to the MC Shift in quality? 2013? Is it the models which are "MC Auto"?
Late 2012... The Sport version with the revised front.

There are, I believe, a small number of the pre-face lift cars that have similar software on the auto (some mouthful like MC Sport Auto).

V8Vs come in all sorts of flavours and are less "GT" than the GT. If you mostly drive A roads and motorways that won't really matter. But if you do B roads, it will (for a car for hooning in).

The GT is a totally (underscored and in bold!) different proposition to a V12V. And even a V8V. If 4 seats are not a priority, consider things carefully.

Ah yes the facelift front makes sense - just to need to make sure it's not been retro-fitted.

Thanks again everyone. I will patiently wait!

OP

Thinking of selling my 09 GT MC Shift.

It’s an epic example.

PM me if interested.

If not, go get one - great cars. Ensure brake disks and bushes in good order as VERY expensive to replace. Otherwise solid cars with great presence.

You won't be disappointed. They're great cars and I have struggled to find anything with as much theatre and presence without spending an extra £100k. The sound is just on another level too!

Lovely car. There is a very similar car for sale down in Lymington complete with carbon bonnet and interestingly for a Stradale, it has 4 seats. Looks amazing in the flesh.

They also have a blue with beige 4.7s

All the later Stradales had 4-seats. I believe the 2-seater stopped 2011/12.

The car above is not a Stradale. It's a facelift/Sport GT (2012 to 2018). I'd argue it does count as "very similar" though, as in reality they are smile

I have a very early 4.2, couldn't afford the 4.7 but would love to try one

Epic car and as others have said very little else that has the drama, the looks and the soundtrack, apart from the Aston, without spending a substantial amount more. Not a deft handler but I bought a 987 Boxster for that job, best of both worlds. Had the sports exhaust option on the 987 which is good... but it still sounds like a sewing machine compared to the GT.

Get one bought they are a class act

+1 on 4.7 MC Shift. You want the sport mode which opens the valves from idle and I don’t think the auto does this (at least pre-facelift)

Best engine sound you’ll find IMO

Mines not for sale...

Correct, also any GranCab SPORT model will ( pre-or post facelift from late 2011 onwards), uprated firmware for auto and skyhook suspension.

If your budget is circa 45k get an MC Shift if you are going to drive it.

Get an auto if you are going to be commuting or in traffic a lot. Or posing.

If you are still looking for a Maserati there is my MC Shift with the sports handling pack that I believe meets your requirements.

It is being sold by AV Engineering in Kent.

Low miles 18,000 and full service history and in very very very good condition.

I am also a member of the sports Maserati forum.

Hi
I'm considering a 2008 4.2 auto as a daily driver 12-15k miles per year, a mix of motorway & traffic

i know its a boring question, but....
what is a realistic MPG?

I have a 4.7 Auto and it has quite a high to gear (only 6th on these) which I lock it in on A roads and Motorways much of the time, mind you can’t do that on the 4.2 as they decided not to disable kick down on that engine in manual mode. Anyway, you can see 28mpg when cruising and my long term average is about 22.

Also what are the recommend service intervals?

Looks like specialists charge £450 interim, £850 major
