Whats the current situation re 'off the shelf' remaps for the Monaro? Did I read that Picador are offering a re-map?

I have HP tuners and have had some success with it, but I just don't have the time (and money for the petrol required on test runs) to go any further with it. Hence the need for an off the shelf re-map.

My car has the Linden stage 2 and is putting out 350bhp/350ftlbs at the wheels.

What could I expect with a re-map too?

So Will if only Wortech have the answers perhaps I should just sell my 2005 edition of Efi live flashscan and my £100k+ dyno then ?

LOL

Weltmeister...

I am confused, you are WRC at Silverstone aren't you?

Have you got any tuning packages ready now for the 05 Monaro CV8 (ie. Exhaust, re-map, etc).

Thanks...

I will PM you as I do not wish to push the "no advertising" rules of Pistonheads any further.

Have I touched a raw nerve Weltmeister?

Can you tune a maffless setup yet?

Might be a customer if you can.

I'd have thought an 85mm maf would be worth keeping seeing as it's a primary input. The factory pcm is also a very powerful piece of kit. I'm very impressed with it and with the knowledge Wortech have in this field. Pity, I'm not using a factory pcm .

V8hsv, why are you thinking of ditching the maf if you don't mind my asking?

Basically as it has been removed by LSV in line with the recc of CAPA. Yes, Wortec have discussed a new non-factory pcm (04) with one of their remaps but I am waiting for LSV's rolling road & the chap who knows HP tuning s/w to come over from Oz to finally, hopefully fettle the cars tuning/set-up. Talking with Mark today they are going to fit a 2 bar sensor so it will dispense with fixed settings so the engine management will work off induction pressures, re-install the knock sensors and everything should be fine. Going to fit revised bushes all round, stiffer anti-roll bar, larger baffled sump and induce -3 deg neg camber to the the front struts. Should finally be the beast it was intended to be, 540 BHP just in not enough, especially weighing in at 1975 Kgs!

Will, that all sounds positive, hope it gets sorted. Should be great on the track with the additional suspension mods. Look forward to hearing your opinions on the changes. Just wish the roads were in a better state!
When do LSV get the r/road?

Well Tim has paid for it, not sure if it will arive this month yet though, the HP s/w is due this week.

Looking forward to saying positive things about LSV once more too, they have had their fair share of knocks lately, even from people who have not even used them.

Let's hope that the Aussie Tuner knows his stuff with HP & that he can teach Mark. Think I'll be tempted out of curiosity to use the r/road, just to see!
Not really planning anymore performance mods(famous last words!).But now I've decided to keep the car, I might start thinking about improving handling for road use. So eagerly await the outcome of your mods.

panoma has given me great insight into setting up the car, when he informed me about camber angles the MD of EE said they start at minus 3 degree set (he was standing behind us) up for the race car. Another motivating factor is that his motor is considerably lower at the front (on standard suspension) and as mine is lowered at the back it might look level from the side but it is too high (for me) at the front.

Interesting stuff. I am a little nervous about changing the suspension set up, as I think that HSV have achieved a good compromise for fast road use without sacrifising comfort & its not to far away from how I would want it anyway. But I would like it to feel a little more "planted" on corners. I think the beefier anti rollbar will be good mod. & one I have certainly considered. Like to hear the views from anyone who has fitted this.
I doubt that I'll ever use the car regulary for track days, so I wouldn't do anything too extreme.

So you don't suffer mid-corner understeer then? I do and when out with odd ball tyres (235 one side & 245 the other) this problem just got underlined.

I'm not setting mine up for track days, just like the idea of annihilating stock cars occasionally

No the car seems fairly neutral & I've had over rather than understeering tendencies. Could be that I drive slower! I've always tended towards the "slow in, fast out" approach, out of habit from my Jensen.
I would have said my VT wasn't that much different, but I probably drive the VX harder as I'm used to these cars now.
Is there a difference in suspension between the VT & VX?

Thanks V8 hsv,

Won't you get a lot of tire wear when driving in a straight line with that amount of negative camber or are you after maximum fun in the twisty bits?

Will,I am surprised you have no 2 bar map sensor fitted with making what,8psi of boost. No wonder the pcm does'nt know what its doing!!!Speed density will give better results than a maf system as long as its setup correctly.
All C4B engines fitted in HSV,s run speed density, and i think Mr Callaway knows a thing or two regarding these engines.
30mm dia front roll bar and adjustable 16/18/20mm rear, should give a good setup along with the neg camber on front to compliment the std 2.5 degs neg that HSV set the rear to.Thats what i run,but does'nt stop there, you will need adjustable shocks etc.

Thanks panoma

No doubt adjustable shocks can be done after LSV do the basic set-up?

Hi Will
Sorry for delay, damned tinternet was busted all day. Chris says Maffless can be "tuned" using our software/rolling road.

Please feel free to call or visit to discuss how.
