Emotional Engineering confirms Vauxhall backing for third season.

British-based GT squad Emotional Engineering has confirmed that it will receive the backing of Vauxhall and their VX Racing brand for the third season in succession.

The recently confirmed deal sees the squad's Vauxhall Monaro run with official factory blessing as it competes with the only racing version of Vauxhall's V8 coupe in the northern hemisphere.

Team manager Allen Orchard is delighted with the deal's continuation. “It is great news that we have renewed our partnership with Vauxhall for a third year," he said. "They committed to us in 2003 for the '04 season and again in '05. Vauxhall have been by our side through the highs and lows and I would like to think that it is because we are commercially focused throughout and have thrown everything into it.”

The squad's race calendar for 2006 sees them competing at select events from a variety of different championships rather than competing in the entirety of any single championship. This will maximize the scope and reach of their racing activities.

VX Racing brand manager Stuart Harris is expecting a great season's racing. "We're looking forward to a third season with Emotional Engineering," he said. "I know there's a lot of Monaro owners out there who are following progress and can't wait for success on track. It's good to see a team competing with such a unique product as the Monaro and I'd be delighted to see them do well in 2006."

Emotional Engineering have their first race meeting in 2006 with the opening round of the Avon Tyres British GT championship at Oulton Park race circuit in Cheshire on April 15-17.

Oulton Park is my local circuit so would be interested in supporting the team during the Easter Weekend.

Monday is looking good, even better if there are any other Monaro or Holden owners going?!

Hey Boss, are you at liberty to divulge your dyno numbers yet or is it still a guarded secret?

Phew that is RWHP! Still that isn't exactly fantastic, I would have expected at least 340rwhp with your mods...hmmm For reference our 04 CV8 made 320rwhp on a Dyno Dynamics dyno before we had our headers and 85mm MAF done, I know everyone says dyno this and dyno that not comparabe blah blah but still I would have expected more, any answers as to why your car only made that much?

look at the Torque curve at around 1800rpm to see the start of the problem......

The car is pulling timing for Torque management and probably IAT.

We have been at the same dyno and could not get a full power run without losing timing.

That would explain it (the lack of top end) but why would it pull timing?

the car is designed to pull timing if the air intake temp gets to high (protect the engine) also on 6.0lt cars the ETC will close the throttle if torque over RPM excededs pre set limits, which on the dyno is very easy to do.

To dyno a modern car you need to have full control of the PCM........

Thor racing are a good bet........ but to do it properly you will need to have the car data logged.......

We are due to do some dyno work in the next week or two so it might be poss to get you in on the end of the day...... I will email you when I have dates

Paul, we also would like to get re-dynoed at Thor as I believe our car would have been pulling timing left right and centre last time... would be good if a dyno day could be organised
