G'Day Guys,

Many thanks for coming along & making the day so good,
It was great to see all those HSV's roll into the Ace Car Park. Sorry I couldn't wait for you on the A40, but had to make sure I was there early.

Once again we had good weather for the event and the Ace Staff made us very welcome. These meetings just get better for me, not only was I lucky enought to take Steff's Maloo along again, but I was taken for a drive along with Wayne Larson & another Aussie (sorry forgot your name)in that fantastic looking HQ Monaro. Many thanks to the owner for taking us down memory lane back to the days when we used to hoon around in HQ's in Aussie, Briliant!

All the best Kiwi Wayne, nice to meet you and see your lovely Clubby, sorry to see you go, but hope to catch up again one day in NZ.

Catch ya's,
Rob.

It was the first time I've seen another Monaro for real, let alone some HSVs and those mad 'utes', so it was a great day out. Good to put some faces to the (forum) names as well. It was very interesting talking about the different mod options too. Mines totally standard at the moment. I've done about 2500 miles so far, and it does feel like it is starting to loosen up, so may be its about time I did some mods.
Actually I have done one mod this morning - the Holden badges! Thanks very much for those badges, Paul, I post you the cheque on Monday.

Thought you had died, Rob, but glad it all went well.

I assume that that is the Monaro from ebay, the HQ ?

Hopefully see it at Billing next year. Matt said he had seen it.

Anyway, did any of the HUKR folk show up ?

G'Day Jagsy,

That's one of the original Monaro's, before the new one came along. It's a 1971-72 HQ Monaro GTS Coupe, like the Night Rider's from MAD MAX ! And I went for a drive in it !

Drive ON !

it doesn't look like a gts as their is no flutes in the guards and its not got single headlights, the one on ebay was a ls monaro, which the seller didn't have time for me to view till after the auction

G'day LS6wetdream,

Yes mate, thats true it is not a GTS just an LS with GTS badge. It is the one that was on E-bay.

Still he's done a great job on the body & it looks fantastic, It will turn a few heads around London.

I told him to take it to one of the Walkabout Pubs in London & see the reaction he gets, the Aussie's will cream their jeans !

Catch ya,
Rob.
