If you guys are intending to pull a lot of constant lateral g's Id make sure you had a full oilpan as the GTO/Monaros have been known to starve the bottom end of oil and sieze. This is usually on skidpads, but forewarned is forearmed. Check out ls1gto.com and google for more details.
"Your owners manual says during competition events, add 1 quart over the full mark. This will help prevent oil starvation." - From GTO site.

Just got an e-mail saying my lid should be waiting for me when I get home - got a nice Sparco one in the end.

That and I'm having the Wortec work done by Greens this week too...and I'm hoping to have an in-car video set-up for a few laps by the time the day comes round.

Nice one Big Fella, what lid did you go for in the end?

I managed to dig my old rally lid out of the store tonight. Still fits! (even though it makes me look like a fat kid caught in a lift )

I've got an Arai SZ Ram3 I'll bring along if that might help mate...although it does have vents on the top so it might not.

Let me know if you think it might.

after a while pfaffing about with the seats, I think I have a solution. Head/lid/roof interface tension has been released. got the seat perfect. forgot to set the memory. swore a ton. and another swearing ton in russian. re-did the whole sitting-in-the-car-in-the-garage-in-a-helmet-looking-like-a-loony thing and memorised the damn thing on the second try.

what a way to spend friday night.

HAHAHAHA

Tried my lid in the car last night and I too have headroom issues.

Got round them by slinking into the seat a bit more.
Should be fine.

Weather report is curently sunny intervals - that'll do me.
