Jace if you are still in Pompey that will explain a lot, my neighbours cheer when I switch off, I then normally say why dont you off - no letters but little neighbourly involvement.

Yeah.... pompey is pretty unreal. I think some of it has to do with the fact that... ah, a car... that means he can get off our little island... we can't have that.

What I guess is annoying is that fact that they don't even talk to each other. You walk down the street, say hello to someone, and they look at you if you have two heads. God forbid if you talk to someone in a line up waiting at the local Co-op. It is pretty funny when you think about it. Didn't really notice it as much, until I went to Munich and came back. Everyone was extremely friendly, and well, even if you didn't speak german they still said hello to you. My mate and I the other day cracked ourselves laughing, when we walked into a shop, and said hello, and got greeted by a gruff. Needless to say, just walked straight back out.

Rang the dude at the council... turns out it was way back in 5th of September when I was doing my brakes.. Know the offenders house... so yeah, going to make sure I park outside her house next time there is work to be done on the car. Legally can work till 10pm.

Don't want to be a bastard about it, but they will have to learn that they can talk to people.

Very surprised to read this, when you drove down our lane I remember commenting on how nice your exhaust sounded. It has a good deep mellow sound to it. But it wasn't loud & the quarry walls around our house really exaggerate sound.
Might be that they are pissy about you working on the car, but there is nothing they can do about that, so they thought they would complain about the exhaust instead.
I would be very surprised if the Enviromental people had any issues with your exhaust.
Off topic, but what's happening with the Harrop brakes? Did you sort out the discs o.k?

Waiting for the Discs to come in. Hopefully shouldn't be too far away. It is a bit jerky when you lightly plant your foot, but rock solid when you slam them on. Habit now is to go 100mile at everything and slam on the brakes.. Makes anxious passengers even more anxious now.

LOL. So I guess you're using the skimmed discs at the moment then. Glad they fitted o.k. in the end. What type of new discs are you getting? Have you fitted the rears yet?

Going to try the DBA's. A couple of mates back home are running them, and they think they are pretty good gear. Compared to the price of the HSV's, the DBA's are £190 each, and the HSV's are £300. Seeming going to sell the car next year, not much point in putting the expensive ones on. Besides the V6 is ALOT lighter.

Going to wait till I can park the car outside the neighbours house to do the rears.. haven't had alot of time to do them lately.

Pretty awesome piece of kit though the HSV brakes.

Sounds good, just sorry that the HSV discs couldn't be salvaged.
Should look nice with the rears on as well!

No worries Tom, thought I might have been able to get away with it, but obviously they get up to that critical temperature. It is OK when they are cold. Hopefully will be able to put the new rotors on, and all will be sweet. Which also means that I get another opportunity to work outside the neighbours house... you little beauty.

Well, got a thing in the mail today... apparently my car is too loud for the street, and they have had a complaint.

Honestly, don't know what it is about this place... why don't people just say something to your face. Think that might be my que to get out of here.

Nice looking car, but did they actually measure the noise with a calibrated sound level meter? otherwise how do they know its too loud?

Might well be loud to your neighbours, but may also be inside the legal limit, whatever that is, must be one, there is one for everything else.....

Nah, just say so from the neighbours. Not too worried, cause the neighbour told the council that it happens all the time. They have now dismissed it, as the neighbour told fibs about it happening all the time.

Anyhow, will sort out the neighbour in due time when I leave. Everyone in a 5 house raidus will be invited to the party when I leave, and well, the stereo ain't going to be quiet that is for sure seeming half the neighbourhood are students.

Someone earlier said Pompey was an island, didnt know that, I know next door is, Hayling island. Thats when Horsea Island was an Island, and the M27 hadnt been built,

Anyway the only Pompey joke I know.

Two guys talking in a pub, one says to the other

"Where you from mate"
"Smiff"
"What, portsmiff?"
"Naw, ammersmiff"

Aint been down there myself since I left the mob in 75, god thats a long time ago, do they still sell scrumpy?

Hi Vipers, Good to see you posting on this site. All our cars have either "obscene" 5.7 or 6.0 litre engines. LOL.

Oops, forgot about that, sorry Raggyman. Shows how good your car looks & sounds though!
Just reffering to a comment made about 5.7 litre engined cars in another section of P/H.
