I see. They ignore the first (and last) millimetre-ish of movement and just give the degrees for the duration 1mm+ open. And this ignores our 1.7:1 rocker ratio, I presume. Interesting food for thought. I'll have to bone up on this a bit as I'm leaning towards the NA route. Cheers.

i have a 4l60 4 speed auto box and it doesnt take that much power to kill them and i think a twin turbo setup will kill it
I've killed several on my 4x4 with my TT setup. The 3/4 clutch packs are weak on these boxes - any forced induction will significantly reduce its life expectancy. There are plenty of upgrades, but expect to spend around £1000 on just parts though.
You could import a turn-key box, but the warranty is effectivley worthless due to shipping costs.

Eliot, have you thought about a 4L80 or would it be to heavy?

Speak to this man www.rapid-gb.co.uk/ .Mark has fitted loads so give him a call. As far as I know reliability is not an issue but characteristically they have less torque/more top end bhp than roots-type blowers.

They dont even list the hard parts they use inside one. Performabuilt or Finish Line more like.

Actually I wouldn't be surprised if they had more torque, just higher up the rpm range, where the blower has spun up. They are far more efficient than the roots type. The roots is better for low down torque, where it excels.

I think it depends on your point of view. Mine has over 500lbs from tickover to 5200rpm which is very useful.

Hi Wallsjay,

I have an 02 auto Ute with a 112 harrop supercharger, De Phillipo's, high flow cats and a twin 2 12" ss system, unsure of the bhp orque but the 4l60e is holding together just fine, if all goes t*ts up for the auto box in the future the next logical replaceent would be a 4l65e, believed to be a straight swap and a bit stronger,

Talk to Roger@Monkfish as he was involved with the mapping on mine, they backed a bit of the power off on changes not to stress the auto too much,

As for the positive v's centrifugal debate, why not have both
