NA doesn`t suit my daily driving style.

Ill let you do a mini review once mine is done and see whether it has the negative points you imply
I think you will be surprised at the flat torque..

I expect to be impressed Rich, guess my view`s are a little behind the times based on my other projects in the past where it was all or nothing at high revs.

Even MB has a wild delivery and thats so mild (ok old tech I Know)

My biggest problem is getting home from Oxford where its being done and then long 3 days wait until its done.
I think this with transform the car in a big way and all the ideot focus ST owners will stop trying to race me lol
Ill let you know if it gets the WOW!!!!! factor when i get it back.

Its being done at TWR (Walkinshaw) and they are fitting a used 112 intercooled and bigger injectors that they said came off a VXR8
I know the 122 is better but the price for this SC is better for me at the mo.

I hope so,
I have already fitted a full system with headers and sport cats and remap and it made 431bhp at RapidGB the at the flywheel of course.

and heres the front parts that came from CAPA.com.au before they were fitted.

Im still running the standard air filter box with a K&N filter but i did wonder if a CAI would be needed. What does everyone think?

Better to use rear wheel mate. Flywheel is pointless. Roger has engine dyno graphs that are miles different from extrapolated flywheel numbers from chassis dyno's so there is zero point quoting them IMO.

They should be about right Rich. LS2 is 400BHP stock. His exhaust looks spot on so should make those numbers with a tune. I reckon mines about the same and made 320 RWHP at Vixpies, with exhaust and no tune (A4 though)

Can i just ask something while your all around. I got the car cleaned yesterday and got talking to a chap that recons he knows a lot about our cars!!! He said you cant put a K and N filter on a monaro because the engine would suck it in. Is this true? He also said the filter i should be asking Monkfish to fit is a something VIPER filter. Is this also true?
Please help I'm blond and very dumb hehe

I thought as much. He has a vectra with viper stripes on the bonnet. Enough said
Seriously i don't know what filters Monkfish will use for my Sports Pac. Is there anything to be gained from buying more expensive filters?

Bonnie, by 'Viper' filter I think the chappie with the Vectra is referring to the Viper induction kit. Great for Calibra's and Nova's but no so good for these cars. It usually means drilling a dirty great big hole into the front of your bumper so as to run the cold air feed pipe back to the filter unit in a straight-a-line as possible. iirc it is also a sealed unit so the filter can't be cleaned so well.

Works pretty well until you get either really dry and dusty condtions or the monsoon weather we have now. I think Monkfish use K&N Panel filters with a larger hole drilled into the bottom of the air box for the pac upgrades. The WORTEC CAI (designed primarily for s/c's - still on topic here) I have now I think is a cone filter in a sealed unit. Can't say for sure as I've never opened it.

Just think what they will do in the wet! L.o.l.
Mine's a Maggie 112. I was a bit disappointed with the top end to be honest. Plenty of low end grunt, but was told to expect in the region of 530 bhp. To be honest, would be surprised if it makes 480. I actually think that the mapping is a bit conservative. Having driven the Wortec Carbon, that is awesome, but I didn't pay anything like that sort of money. Steve (Demon Hill) took me out for a spin in his wife's Merc AMG. Mine's not as quick as that, but it's dragging around a lot more weight (I think). He also took my 14 year old lad out with the top down at major leptons - boy still hasn't fully recovered! L.o.l.
I'm running the standard clutch with no problems so far, I took the view that since mine had only done 9000 miles I would try it before just upgrading the clutch, and if it wouldn't take it then I would change it.
Mel, your man doesn't know what he's talking about. I've used a K&N for 3 years in two different 'ros - guaranteed its still there with no problems whatsoever. If you look at the K&N, their build quality is way too high to be sucked into the engine!

I guessed that was the case. He called up a webb site to show me all this stuff he could get for the Monaro. The list of things available stopped at Omega. Not one Monaro item. He said he could have a cat back exhaust made while i wait for half of the price Monkfish charge. I think i'll stick to what i know. I only dropped by to have the car washed.
