Well I'm very much looking forward to my trip to Micheldever Tyres this afternoon. When changing my discs at the weekend I noticed the tyres I have are a bit of a mis-mash, well they are!

I have a full set of Michelins put-by for my visit, I think I'm going to notice quite a difference £740 All-in

Yeah, you're going to love it!
I remember when Bridgstone tyres were from Japan, and the first thing that a motorcyclist swapped off his bike, as they were lethal in the wet. Some of the cheap tyres are starting to perform well. I've just had a full set of Generals fitted to my BMW, and they seem to hold up well on road and track. I don't know what their wet weather grip is like though, so the jury is still out.
IIRC, Sarge 4x4 fits a lot of them, and rates them too - though not on his GTS.

My Tyre placard (On drivers door edge below the catch) says 35psi Normal all round & 42psi fully loaded all round. So I guess there is room to manoeuvre between these pressures. I had a set of Pirelli Phantoms on a Moto Guzzi last 1800 miles because nobody told me they should be run at 2 psi more than standard, an expensive mistake!
