DOT rated, passed the MOT with them, driven on by Street Eliminator cars on their cruises, satisfying rules about being street legal. I think the E rating question is a bit of a grey area, key issue being supply rather than use. The key point is a tyre must be fit for purpose.
I'm guessing that there are several other sub-2 second sixty foot cars that ran on drag radials or equivalents? Very few European tyres are up to running less than 2-seconds on the sixty foot times.
So are MTs illegal then? They are sold in the UK and I haven't seen anywhere where it says "illegal for road use". Either way, I run them all the time even in the rain just gotta be careful. On the strip, running a street tire with that much power is just asking for trouble. I also passed MOT and never got any trouble from the cops about my tires.I'm guessing that there are several other sub-2 second sixty foot cars that ran on drag radials or equivalents?
