Well a fair deal was arranged but I had several things done for a package price and the diff was just one item so I would not like to quote something in a public place that is not correct.

As an early bird with this one I do not know if they experienced anything that may affect upwards or even downwards the diff price particularly in the fitting and subsequent remapping

Blimey, those prices are less than I expected tbh mate.

What does one have to do to keep the speedo reading right or is that not an issue

(sorry for all these dumb questions everywhere folks, I'm new to this muscle car thang)

The speedo reading is taken care of by a change in the engine management system. This is included in the cost.

Don't worry about dumb questions, glad to help.

I've heard it said that the diff change can add another 50BHP. How is that?

I think it's the perceived difference in acceleration etc rather than an actual difference.

Exactly right BigNige. It does not add/produce more power.

It speeds up acceleration through a lowered mechanical gearing which can equate to reducing acceleration times by a similar margin to keeping a standard diff and adding more power/torque.
(The people who really know about this stuff please feel free to correct and/or add to this!.

On researching this I foound alot of modded cars downunder change to a 3.91 diff. Some peole go for a 4.11 which is basically for drag racing as I understand it.

The point as awlays depends on what you wish to achieve. I use my car as an everyday car so I need to keep some 'sensible' drivability and fuel economy

In reality and simple terms it is bl***y brilliant!
