This is very common in New Zealand where the "road test" is just an excuse for a hoon.

Why not pass it to the police? well it'd probably cost them their jobs, knock on effect, loose their house. Not really fair on their kids, just because Dad is being a dick in a clients car. Luckily noone got hurt otherwise I'd have no problem dropping them in it.

Sorry to hear of how this place and it's employees treated your car, but TBH I'd not loose any sleep about the bloke loosing his job / house. Honestly I wouldn't.
Neather would i. I mean if anyone had stepped out they wouldn't have stood a chance. IMO and it is just my opinion these blokes should be locked up. Its disgusting to abuse someones trust and property like that. It turned out harmless but i could have been devastating.

How bad would you feel if next week they DID kill someone driving like that and you didn`t do anything?

I used a product call3ed CamStudio...

http://all-streaming-media.com/record-video-from-s...

The format the RH-1 produces, I tihnkis not just video. I'm assuming all the GPS and G-Force is in there as well so I'm guessing it's a propritory format. If you do a file save, you can export the video content as an AVI, but then you loose the GPS etc data.

Hi CrisisJez,

I think that's somewhat unfair. Don't make me out to be the bad guy here!

I've already explained why I haven't gone to the police. You're suggesting that if those idiots write off another driver next week that I'd be partially responsible because I know they're driving like idiots and didn't report them.

Well, if you're going to take that stance, look at it this way. So would you!

Ok, badly worded, my bad.
what i should have said is

l would feel bad,and yes,if next week they did hurt someone i would feel guilty too.

you are the innocent party in all this and i just can,t help but feel outraged for you.

if it were me i would have had the garage held to account in a heartbeat to stop it from happening again, it would be down to them how far to have to take it.

The guys who took the car did effectively TWOC. Its beyond letting go IMO. And just iamgine if your car had been detected doing xxx mph on a camera ? DO you think the police would take you at your word it wasnt you driving ?? Not a chance. You'd be totally up st creek unless you had this evidence.

If they are doing it to your car, they are obviously doing it with other cars.

Report it to the police, there is no excuse for car theft in any shape or form.

You're maybe right. The overwhelming concensus from people I tell is that I report them.
I guess I'm just too nice a guy or maybe I think I've had enough crap from them to be bothered having to make police statements and court appearances etc!

I can see what you mean. But really. How many other cars have they treated like that ? Has a NIP arrived in the post yet ?
Unless there was a specific reason for driving in such a manner, then no way should they have done so.

How did the workshop owner respond ? and indeed the person actually driving ?

Although I guess even if it isnt reported to the police....the garage in question, which can almost be made out from the video, is bound to take a hit with business when people find out what they've been up to.

I really think you should report them, not out of malicious intent, but more to get bad drivers off the road. Ok their kids might suffer if Dad loses his job, but they'll suffer more if his Dad runs someone over, not to mention the devastation to the families Dad might destroy.

Just been doing some research into this item and found this on the web. www.expansys.com/d.aspx?i=177703 i believe its the same item just branded different and with a great saving too and they do bulk discounts too so maybe we can do a group buy and save a packet.

xdriven i believe is a US version so warranty/fault issues might be a concern.

may not be an issue but should be considered. Some UK shops sell Canon camera kit that is actually grey import so not covered by warranty.

Its 174, if you look at the offical US site its 275 dollars

its for sale here http://www.actioncameras.co.uk/X_Driven?gclid=CMSQ... for 299 quid

so ask yourself how they are flogging them for 174 when the rest of the world seem to sell them at considerably more

Just been visited by the Police looking for the original roadhawk files.
No need for me to go and see them now!
