My thread may have been slightly hijacked, but it's great to see some technical info on the forum

Have you read the CALC.VET and CALC.MAFT methods? Looks interesting, going to be giving VET a go, just to see how it goes, then probably ditch the MAF anyway
Might as well whilst I have time
Yes I followed the thread, for the LS1, not sure it works for the E40 as it has three airflow pids, MAF, DYNAIR and AIRPERSEC.Might as well whilst I have time
I started an earlier thread as it happens for a simultaneous log method for E40. In my method I correct MAF and DYNAIR from AIRPERSEC.

Took a while to read through all that, glad there are some people looking at the e40 at least! I started an earlier thread as it happens for a simultaneous log method for E40. In my method I correct MAF and DYNAIR from AIRPERSEC.

It does make me a lot more inclined to just ditch the MAF though!
As my WB isn't fitted yet, I hadn't got to the validating PIDs etc. stage, so the penny hadn't dropped that of course the E40 won't have half the PIDs needed...
I'll re read your method a few times to ensure I understand it, all the PID names can get confusing if read all at once!
Let me know if theres anything I can do / log to help, stock heads/cam ls2 with fast intake/headers

You can't log anything without validating the PIDs.It does make me a lot more inclined to just ditch the MAF though!

Quick update:
The cam/heads have been installed in the car and it was dropped off for mapping yesterday.
I have to confess to letting out a small giggle when I fired it up! The idle was a tad low, but it did give it some proper lope. It also rocked the car on idle a hell of a lot more than standard! Unfortunately, I fear the mapping will 'tidy up' the idle.
I eagerly await the results

Who is mapping it for you?The cam/heads have been installed in the car and it was dropped off for mapping yesterday.

Shame you don't have efilive. There is a feature on it that lets you command various stuff direct from your laptop. Idle being one of them. You can they try various idle speeds, its great fun.
Problem with idle is getting it to do that nicely with all the variables down that end, to come off it ok.
Another quick update.....
404rwhp and 450lb/ft of torque (at the fly, from 4,400 to 5,350rpm) Will upload graphs shortly. To say I'm over the moon is an understatement!
Just to clarify, that is 80ish rwhp from cam, heads and a tune
It made peak power at the limit (6,600), and with the cam specs, I know there is more on the table. What can the rods/bottom end take? The car has done 94k miles, so I'm tempted to err on the side of caution and leave it as it is. It is tempting, though, to up the limit and see what it will do up to 7k rpm...
