Erm.. my point is... even if Toyota had a car designed and built entirely in the UK it would still be Japanese because its a Toyota, because Toyota is Japanese.

Holden is General Motors, which is American.

Not arguing that the Holden is designed and built down under, but like I said, its not Home Grown.

If GM thought they could sell as many cars without various different names around the world, they would......

By that arguement then all Opels and Vauxhalls are American also?

what has the world come to when we're arguing about a mass market car brand. Arguing about a prestige name yes, but Holden? Come on its like arguing that the rotary washing line is the most successful Australian export (other than whinging bar staff and Rolf)

Well, I thought it was a great review. JC was seriously enjoying himself out on the track and, even if he'd rather have an M5, I wouldn't. The only other car that appeals to me in this market is the Chrysler 300c and that's an auto only.

Now, can we have an estate version of the VXR8 too?

I only noticed the words... but with it wet, I assume that makes the '8 about 2 seconds quicker?

JC always says that a wet track adds on about 4 seconds. At least he does for the nearly stars in the reasonably priced car....

i'd like to see a sc one go around in the dry ;-)

all that money saved over an m5 - just think if you had all that dosh to modify it! best/cheapest mod is still to remove the vauxhall badges and give it back its hsv badges ;-)

That black on black is the dogs wotsits - brought it all back to me what its like to drive an HSV in the UK... people almost killin themselves trying to take pics or just have a good look

i thought it was a great review, as with all of Clarkson's reviews beyond the obvious bull about VX badge VS. Bimmer etc etc the time on the track doesn't lie.

With a few choice mods it can only be faster!

Hi Jules
Saw you an' the Raggy on TG. How did you just happen to get on there the very week they reviewed the VXR? You've got more jam than a cow's got c. Apparently the waiting list to get on there is humongous.
Been back to Vic. lately mate? Don't know when i'll be going again.
Have you seen my Skaife print on eBay. Maybe you or Jace can tell me if you've seen one before.
Hope you and Sus are well.

What are the breathers like on your gearboxes? The US boxes (camaro) I've had have an extended breather pipe which goes towards the transmission tunnel. Would that be a solution for you?

All good Mick - hope yr well. went back a couple of times this year but no plans until June when we feck off for good. After tasting Tiler's pet satan I at least know what ride to order once I get home to Oz!
I did some work for TG earlier in the year and one of the researchers owed me some tix - quizzed him when the VXR might be on & last Wednesday was the day.
Have a good crimbo mate.
