National meet , nc500 run
Discussion
Who is up for doing the nc500 for the national meet this year?
Spoke to roger, think the best time to do it would be in june/early july
before it gets to busy.
If you are interested put your name down and preferences for what weekend to go as we will need to get accommodation sorted a.s.a.p
1) paul450 , no preference just need my car back first

Have been looking at this again. I usually do the NC500 during the last weekend in August/first weekend in September. The first Monday in September should hopefully be a “Holiday Monday” for all of us. That would give us more time to plan and hopefully avoid most of our already arranged Summer Holiday plans. Weather is still good and roads less busy. My usual routine is to head to Stirling for the Thursday night and then drive up to Portree on Skye for the Friday night. Saturday morning drive round Skye and then head up to Ullapool for the Saturday night taking in The Pass of the Cattle on the way. Sunday head north to Durness and then cut down from Tongue to Lairg and spend Sunday night in Inverness. Monday takes in The Cairngorms and back to Stirling and beyond! This misses out the far north east section, but to be honest it’s no great loss! Have done this route for years. Hope this helps.
This sounds good roger Meet up at our usual premier inn in stirling on the Thursday night on
29/8/19
this ok for everyone else?

Folks, newbie here and unlikely to make the drive north (shortage of A/L), but I’m 10mins from Stirling and might be free to pop over and chat cars on the Thu night.
welcome to the clan mate you would be more than welcome to pop over on the Thursday night
but you forgot the first rule you have to put up a pic of your car

August 24-25, leaving bank holiday monday.
it's now 1 week earlier than what was planned.might be able to meet up with you and do the Saturday, sunday (if I can get the Saturday off)
just need my car back first
I take it, it will just be a run and not the nc500 because you would not be staying at the stirling premier inn the whole weekend (original plan was 3 days not 2) ?
if you where doing the nc500 it would be best to start in inverness, get roger to find somewhere for the Saturday and sunday to stay.

Normally just have a bit of a meet and something to eat saturday, all the local lads go home and I sample a few beers.
Sunday we all meet up fairly early and someone who has sorted a route will pas out prints of the route for the day.
we''ll drive sedately to a restaurant/pub for a bite to eat and then drive ever so gently back to the hotel.
Later I shall drink about a gallon and half of Guinness and retire to my room for an early start for my 355 mile drive home [according to Google maps.]

mind you sometimes printing a route out doesn't help (people cant read English) , one of the years I done the route the first instruction was turn left out of the carpak me and the first 4 cars turn left drive for approx. 1 mile and stop. wait for 5 - 10 minutes and no more cars turn up.
where is everyone.
phoned one of them up and the other 13 cars turned right out the carpark up to the roundabout, took one of the junctions off the roundabout and flying up the road trying to catch us up ( most had passengers with a map and instructions ).
right looks like it is now a meet and meal on Saturday 24/8/19 and run on the 25/8/19
how many miles do you want to drive on the sunday ?
who is going, add your name
1) paul450 , both days, 200 - 300 miles on the sunday (if I get my car back )

3) Ripgmh, sat maybe Sunday for some of the cruise (wife and kids dependent)
4) leigh1050 ,both days
5) thunder storm , both days
6) well_fans , Saturday (maybe)
