Car cover for Monaro...?

I have both an indoor and outdoor cover from these guys - they were about £85 a pop (although both purchased at shows like the Festival of Speed) and have never let me down. They know the car (VXR) so had the right size in stock. I have to recommend them as I've gone through cheaper covers elsewhere and it was a waste of money.

Thanks for the link
Would you say these covers are very good quality? Have you had your's for a while? No scratching, rubbing or marks from it on the paintwork?

Have you purchased the lightweight breathable or the heavy duty water proof item for exterior usage?

After buying the cheapest ones I could (three times) and them either not being waterproof, too flimsey or just too small, I finally took the plunge on a Semi-tailored fully waterproof and fully lined outdoor cover.
Absolutely waterproof and lined with a fluffy cotton lining it's heavy (c.8KG) so won't move around and has one central pair of holes for a chord if needed. It's long enough for the R8 and with the windows folded in goes right down to the sill - so for a Monaro would be a great fit.
Really impressed with the quality of it - and the best bit is it was around £40 on ebay. Will dig out details if anyone's interested.

Got my cover for the VXR from here www.theultimatefinish.co.uk
First cover was too small (rear spoiler) had to buy size E. Monaro will probably need a size smaller.

Just bumping for IXLR8 : Gary - I've sent you a mail, but just in case:

You'll have no problem with length - even with an R8 rear spoiler - and as the Monaro isn't as tall the sides should cover the sills nicely.

Ordered the other week, came through very quickly!
Length is fine as you say, but it's definately not wide enough. About 4-6 inches of the sills remain exposed. You mentioned folding your mirrors in, not sure if I can do this with the Monaro? Never attempted before, just assumed they're not engineered that way.

Folded the mirrors in, does make a difference but only minimal, cover still doesn't reach to bottom of the sills (about 3" short).
Cover has been on a week now, we've had a little rain here and Essex and it showed when removing the cover. Sadly the seams can't be that great on this cover. Ok there wasn't a great deal of water present under the cover, quite minimal really. But it's sold on the premise that it IS a water proof cover which clearly it isn't. Also, a minor point but the carry case/bag rips on the seams when trying to fit the cover back in.
So to any other Monaro or VXR 8 considering this one www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221061462480?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 I wouldn't bother.

Found the car rather wet after having it covered while pouring down with rain....
Cover has been off and on numerous times and still keeps the bird poo off it which is what i really wanted it for...
But funny thing is that lately, after the heavy rain we have been having, it has been bone dry underneath????
But really for the money its bloody good.... I have her waxed up to the hilt so i'm not worried .... YET

Very true, it certainly is cheap, probably the cheapest for it's type. Just annoying finding patches of water/moisture when removing it and that it's not wide enough.
