How much is a tvs1900 going to cost compared to fixing the 122 then?
A minimum of twice as much at a guess, once you factor in labour and resale of your 122. Problem is once the 122s start to whine they can knock out the replaced bearings quite quickly. The only real fix is a new blower intake casting.I did this dance myself.
I use to run a H122 @ 9psi and had no issues with it at all.
MF changed the bearings in it before they fitted it (at their cost for their piece of mind) and was on the car for 3 years with no issues.
The H122's do give a slight rattle at idle where the shafts inside are not under any load, if it goes when you apply a few revs, all is fine, failing that, get MF to change the bearings, circa £300 I think was the last price that was bounded around (not by MF by the way) but during a meet.
Hope it's a simple fix, the whine a 122 gives is superb

Have spoken with roger this morning and he was as always very helpful, started car up and ran it up for 10mins, then took it for a drive to work and give it a bit of stick, wet roads didn't help much but was fun trying lol, noise has not come back yet, will take it down the motorway tonight to give it a proper run, possible that some water/muck has got into bearing I suppose, car was parked up all night on a slope with the front end higher than the back so may have cleared out, but I am always an optimist!
