Hiya chaps,

As you may or may not be over a month ago I found to my horror the paint on the Monaros drivers side door handle had flaked off... I know a few of you on here have experienced this.

Now then, I called vauxhall technical line & they put me in touch with Slaters vauxhall of Colwyn bay.. My nearest offical dealer and 77miles away!

Cutting a long story Slaters have ordered in two handles (drivers and passengers) and are having them painted at this minute. Thus saving me the hastle of dropping the car in and having to go back etc... They are being very very helpful and pleasant to deal with...

Anyway, I will be going over on 17th October to have these fitted (cant be sooner as going abroad later this week). My question is, as it will be a 150mile round trip on Monday, and as I need to take a day off work, should I or could I claim for this? I know it sounds crazy but i will be out of pocket a bit on fuel and as its not my fault I feel a bit unsure? Could anyone give me any advise on this?

I dont want to cause trouble to the execellent service ive recieved... just wondered where I stand? and what vauxhall can do? Could I for example push for money off next service etc?

Cheers for any help,

Mike

Hi Mike.
You may be able to get your dealer to fill your car with fuel to cover your out of pocket expenses!

I have had good service from Pentagon Derby and that's what they did for me. Depending on the chosen route 4 hour and 180-200 mile round trip! There again they did have my car for 5 days to fix what turned out to be not a fault! See my recent thread.

They also gave me an astra rather than a corsa for the first 2 days and when i politely said "no good for a return trip to London", they fixed me up with a sri vectra,so well done Pentagon.

Hope this helps you make a polite complaint without offence to your helpfull dealership.
Will arrange to meet with you as i notice we are not too far away!
All the best,

Paul

Thanks Paul....

Not only do you come from Cheshire, but also from a Vectra supertouring! My old car was a Vectra GSI.... same bag basically!

Meet would be good some time!

Are you getting the same dealer to repair your car that sold you it? If so they might consider something goodwill.

If not then the likelyhood is zero.
