Just posting to help anyone with a monaro and a baby on the way with what I found fit as let's be honest they are not idea family cars, although my big boot model helps.

CV8, the mamas papas 0-6 months base attached using rear seat belts with the primo viaggo range won't fit. The rear belts not long enough.

Maxi cosi easybase2 fits great in the back both width of the rear buckets and the cars seat belt, decent bit of kit and the relevant maxi cosi group seat.

For 6 months + I looked at a few but the recaro young sport circa £140-£150 fits great, its narrow enough to fit nicely within the seat, monaro belts are long enough to attach and I ordered black on black and looks good in the sea of black leather monaros have.

Ps. Avent milk bottles fit perfectly in the dash cup holders ;-)

I searched for a while to find monaro specific advice on baby and child seats so just posting up my findings for any future dads, you don't need to get rid of a 2 door coupe with bucket rear seats when a child is on the way, you just need the right equipment.

Besides nothing helps kids sleep like a v8 burble.

I didn't have any issues with the angle mate using the maxi cosi, if you did want to adjust it you can buy a foam circular tube about 2 inch diameter you wedge it at the back, some people roll up and old towel.

Do you mean for the newborn rear facing seat ? I had this problem and ended up buying the easy base 2 from maxi cosi its a base that uses your belt and a bar slides down onto floor. The seat then clips into base. Great bit of kit dead quick and easy but very secure. It works with the short belts as the belts clip through base and stay there.
